Blackwell (MSU)
Doesn't seem like he was try to "help" their recruiting if anything, maybe just trying to tell his side of the story or worse yet, tell kids to not go to staee. This is a mess!
I work in private banking / investment advisory so we deal with this type of stuff all the time. He was trying to put together a list so that he could hit the ground running on the next job (if he gets one).
To what end though? It's a list of MSU's top recruits in Michigan. You're talking about 10-15 kids max, maybe 20-30 if it's through 2019. There's probably dozens of people around the state who could name them off the top of their heads. Maybe the order is different at MSU vs other sources, but it's the same general list. Blackwell certainly knew the list, he didn't need a copy.
Wild guess: he wanted something on MSU letterhead that showed the order. I can only assume it was to harm MSU. "They said you were there number 1 guy, here's what they really think." To a kid or a coach of a kid.
And it would likely also include scouting and backgound notes. You are talking the 2018, 2019, and 2020 kids and not just the MSU targets but other kids they looked at - so you could be talking hundreds of names.
This is extremely valuable information to a G5 or FCS team that doesn't have the resources to to cast a wide net in recruiting.
The article doesn't say anything more than "a list of the school's recruiting targets" or "a list of the top prospects in the state of Michigan." I don't think it can be inferred that such a list would contain personal contact info.
And even if it did, Blackwell knows all the coaches in the state, or would have a close friend who would. He can get himself in contact with any recruit he wanted to once he was hired at a new school.
he figured he was done at MSU and was already thinking about his next job. I'm guessing if he was in possesion of that list he figured he could start forging relationships with some of these kids and make promises to a possible new team that he could bring in some good players right away.
First off, more than likely he helped create the list as recruiting coordinator. Do you think it could be possible that he believed he was going to be retained by MSU? Then Sparty decided they had to throw someone under the bus to try to cover their A**.
Just stop talking about the issue as it makes you look petty, but that is just my opinion.
he was wearing a Sparty jersey or something. Well at least there's corn in the background, and one lawn chair for each the remaining players on the team.
those two gifs could be linked in Michigan fandom for alltime.
Can't wait to hear the staee faithful defend or rationalize that - everyone else is doing it, this is a witch hunt, etc.
witch hunt. You mean like in old salem?
is going to be denied and nobody is going to overturn it..
He probably had no idea the depths to which Blackwell would sink. I'll bet he's as shocked as anyone at the allegations.
the evidence is too damning at this point.
Sam must still be in the denial phase of the Kubler-Ross model of the 5 stages of grief.
Don't think that was a Freudian slip. That's Blackwell's nickname, according to Sam Webb.
Let's ban the guy who has provided incredible amounts of inside information because you're mad about something innocuous he said.
Also, UMBIG11DUNG? Are you 13 years old?
It is not aired by umbig11. No Michigan fan would go out of their way to CRAP on Sam for his opine. Yes 13 year olds use Dung, frequently. Writing it's so, fun. Nice try.
You are either drunk or stupid. I can't figure out which it is.
Ahh, that answered it. You're stupid. Buh-bye now.
Final Answer
Give Sam a kiss for me. I have plenty of sleight for him.
