Big Ten games on Peacock will be seen on bars, restaurants across America. Here's how
Free Press = No Link
The new Big Ten media deal calls for games on online streaming services. But those fans without Peacock may not be totally in the dark when it comes to watching the Wolverines and Spartans. NBC Sports announced on Friday that the media conglomerate has reached a deal with EverPass Media to distribute sports content to bars, restaurants and other commercial buildings. The multi-year agreement is good for all over the U.S., which means games such as Michigan football's season opener against East Carolina and Michigan State football's home game against Washington next month should be on screens at your local watering hole.
Other Peacock-exclusive sporting events coming up on the calendar include NFL games, the Premier League, IndyCar racing and almost every other Big Ten sport. EverPass Media was created, with help by the NFL, to help distribute things like Sunday NFL Ticket, which is exclusively on YouTube now, to commercial establishments. The new media contracts for the Big Ten include football games on CBS and continuing coverage on Fox and the Big Ten Network. Every Saturday night, NBC will show a Big Ten game that will also be available on Peacock, its streaming service.

Sorry for the format, looked good when I previewed it. Can't edit.

I can edit it to two or three paragraphs, if you'd like.

Yes, please!

Drat... double post.

I'm glad bars should be able to have it on. The modern system is ruining CFB. Providers are constantly at odds with networks and miss games, or you need to stream something extra, etc.

CFB is ruining CFB

Money seems to get in the way.

I am sure that these not so hyped games will be found online, albeit, not in the greatest resolution as you'll find on a TV

I'm not scared of change. But this change is some ass

Its our jobs as dedicated fans to be overtaking ass.

The Peacock thing is dumb, but it seems like just getting Peacock for a few bucks a month is cheaper than going to the bar. Between drinks and food, you're easily pushing $50-$60 bucks each time.

At that price point, you should consider springing for a ticket for the ECU game. It would be more fun.
August 11th, 2023 at 10:52 PM ^
Agreed, and think I saw Peacock has a 7 day free trial which should cover the E Carolina game
August 12th, 2023 at 7:34 AM ^
Is Michigan/ECU only on Peacock?
August 12th, 2023 at 11:45 AM ^
Thank you! Also, that's the dumbest fucking thing ever.
August 11th, 2023 at 9:47 PM ^
Still not watching it. I look forward to the UFR.
August 11th, 2023 at 10:27 PM ^
I'm not going out, just hoping I can start a free trial the day before and canceling after the game ends

Peacock just ended their big promotion for the summer by offering new customers $20 for a year. They are not going to give out a free trial a month later before the football season starts. They got you in a corner and they know it.

I took advantage, then realized I'd be on a plane during the ECU game. I don't think Delta carries Peacock.
August 12th, 2023 at 12:40 AM ^
Gotta spring for that wifi now! (Idk if Delta offers it for free?)
August 12th, 2023 at 1:58 AM ^
Delta has free Wi-Fi if you have a (also free) account with them, but I don’t think it lets you stream.

It's only select flights though for some reason. I flew to Dallas this week and one leg offered the free WiFi for sky miles members but the other used the old system where it was only for T-Mobile customers.

I'm old enough to remember when radio was the only option to get many games live. I may just go back to that for the games on Peacock.
August 12th, 2023 at 2:16 AM ^
You got that right. Until the Supreme Court ruled on the Sherman act we had to grow up listening to Ufer for the majority of games which I have no regrets BTW. Teams had a finite amount of games they were allowed to be televised on national TV broadcasts.
We are spoiled today and it's awesome.
August 12th, 2023 at 9:35 AM ^
Amen! Thanks for reminding me…that’s how I’ll be experiencing the ECU game.
August 12th, 2023 at 8:37 AM ^
I don't get why bars were unable to get Peacock before this deal.
August 12th, 2023 at 9:31 AM ^
This still isn't a good thing.
