Is Ditka driving the bus?
December 26th, 2018 at 10:59 PM ^
3-6
Also won't likely watch much more than Michigan, maybe playoffs, LSU-UCF, and Iowa. Like many others I've got a very "meh" attitude towards college football lately. Tough to get into.
December 26th, 2018 at 11:07 PM ^
I have 7-2 with the two losses going to Ohio State and either MSU or Penn State. I will admit, this is more wishful thinking than a prediction, but I’m sticking to it.
December 26th, 2018 at 11:19 PM ^
4-5. B1G wasn’t very strong this year.
Wisky down. Iowa down. MSU sucking (hopefully forever).
Truth is, as long as we win and OSU loses, I’m happy.
But the last thing I want to see after what that turd Urban did was him being carried off the field like some hero. Guy is a total scumbag. Blows my mind the hero worship for him in that state after what he has been like his whole career.
But then that has been their tradition, so why am I surprised.....
December 26th, 2018 at 11:22 PM ^
27,000 fans at that minn game.
What a crowd. I guess i'm not the only one that didn't care.
December 27th, 2018 at 12:53 AM ^
2nd highest Quick Lane Bowl attendance ever. It was noticeably more crowded than the last 2 versions.
That said - the attendance tonight was still lower than all but 2 Motor City Bowls. One of those Motor City Bowls (2012) was during a blizzard, so that cut down on things. All the Motor City Bowls involved MAC teams, of course. And the highest Quick Lane Bowl attendance came when a local MAC team (CMU) was involved.
This Bowl should be MAC vs. B1G. It's dumb that it is not.
December 26th, 2018 at 11:24 PM ^
I also am not really that interested in the bowl games this year. It used to be New Years day was a cornucopia of fun games to watch and the whole family would sit together and watch the games. Now it's spread out all over the place, and the biggest day is the 29th? Sigh... I guess I will watch it all on Saturday and take down the tree on the 1st.
December 26th, 2018 at 11:34 PM ^
Let's see...
Ohio State lies, cheats, uses bagmen, has mouth breathing cooler pooper fans, and enables wife beating.
Pedo State rapes kids and covers it up unapologetically.
Sparty uses PEDs, are insufferable pricks, tries to injure our players, and covers up massive institutionalized sexual assault and rape.
Maryland killed a kid and tried not to do the right thing. They won 6 games but aren't in a bowl I guess.
...pretty much fuck the entire Big Ten other than Michigan. I hope players sit out of every bowl until there is a playoff and the NCAA pays the players. Stop giving money to millionaire greedy bowl fixers and organizers.

on the 'good' list, you forgot northwestern: great school, pretty good football, and a coach who is clean as a whistle....like harbaugh.

Pedo State rapes kids and covers it up unapologetically.
Weird... the MGoGroupThink is NittanyFan is a great poster.
December 27th, 2018 at 2:43 PM ^
he is a welcome poster. not a joepa apologist, very level-headed takes on football in particular. a pleasure to have post here.
December 27th, 2018 at 3:47 PM ^
I respectfully disagree.
I've been around here long enough to see NittanyFan:
* Try to explain how this was one person rather than institutional
* Say Joe and Jay Paterno didn't know (which are lies)
* Rationalize that Penn State was punished enough when they were relieved of some of the punishment early.
I'm not trying to deny you or other fans of his/hers their opinion. But to say that NittanyFan isn't a JoePologist isn't congruent with his/hers previous posts.

9-0 since Harbaugh doesn't have to worry about tOSU.
December 27th, 2018 at 1:41 AM ^
My pool has - WINS:
Minny/GaTech, Wisky/Miami, Mich/UF, Iowa/MissSt., PSU/KY, OSU/UW
LOSSES:
Auburn/Purdue, Oregon/MSU, Utah/NW
6-3
December 27th, 2018 at 6:45 AM ^
Got 6-3. Not sure I get the guys that don’t care about the Big bowl games. How many more years do we need to see the Big Champ left out of the playoff? You’re going to wish the bowl teams did well when you’re looking at a one loss M team that wins the Big and is on the fence of the playoff.
December 27th, 2018 at 2:28 AM ^
Don't have it in front of me, but I seem to remember thinking 'not very good matchups for the B1G this year.'
December 27th, 2018 at 2:35 AM ^
Apart from Michigan, the wins I see at this point are Minnesota (already), Wisconsin, Ohio State (boo). Doubtful of most of the rest.

I thought all bowls are meaningless unless it’s a CFP Bowl. If so, who cares?
December 27th, 2018 at 7:13 AM ^
It is sad that the dates and times and match-ups move around so much. Tradition has been thrown out the window. It is hard to care when you had no expectation other than making the CFP games which at some point evaporates.
Any conference left out of the CFP has a favorable set of match-ups as they are not playing 1-4. Yet somehow the Big 10 is the underdog in half the games.
5-4
December 27th, 2018 at 9:03 AM ^
Michigan will probably be the only team to lose again.
BPONE .
December 27th, 2018 at 9:06 AM ^
6-3. Purdue, MSU and Northwestern lose.
December 27th, 2018 at 9:15 AM ^
I haven't watched a single bowl game yet, Big Ten or otherwise. I was surprised they were putting them on in the middle of a work day.
I guess I need to get caught up with the program.
December 27th, 2018 at 9:21 AM ^
I believe this year 4-5 to 5-4 for the B1G.
wins Wisconsin, nw, Ohio, and Michigan is up in the air for me don’t really feel great about this one.

Peach: Mich-FL - on paper, Michigan should win, even with the four players sitting out. But I'm not convinced we do. Have to question how much Michigan wants to be here, and Florida is incredibly motivated and happy to be here under a first year HC. They also have a team full of players who remember getting their asses whipped (in some cases, twice) by Michigan. Sorry, I think this one is a loss where there are plenty of chances to win, but Michigan just doesn't capitalize, or just makes mistakes that let Florida back into the game. I'd love to be wrong, but Michigan is historically awful in bowl games. 24-21, Florida kicks a game-winning field goal.
Rose: OSU-UW - I think OSU wins this going away. Not like 45-7, but something like 49-28 where the game really isn't in doubt starting around the third quarter, and we have to watch Urbz get carried off the field. More than half of the stadium is going to blow up in O-H-I-O chants throughout the whole fourth quarter, and we're all going to be watching this game wondering how in the hell we shit our pants against these guys for the umpteenth year in a row.
Citrus: PSU-UK - I'll take Penn State. McSorely plays a great game to end his collegiate career
Holiday: NW v. Utah - Toss-up, but I'll pick NW because they're definitely a team that I will always root for as long as they're not playing Michigan or if them winning doesn't hurt Michigan's conference title/CFP chances.
Music City: Purdue vs. Auburn - just depends on which Purdue shows up. If the Purdue that beat OSU shows up, then they could slaughter Auburn. But more often than not, that is the Purdue that doesn't show up. I'll take Auburn.
Redbox: MSU-Oregon - Oregon wins this one. MSU still can't score.
Pinstripe: UW-Miami (YTM) - Wisconsin. Neither team is that good this year, but I think Miami is worse, especially after losing their DC.
Outback: Iowa-Miss St - Iowa will ugly up the game enough to win, but I don't think they will.
So I guess the conference ends it at 5-4.

7-2 with only MSU and Purdue losing
