And the relevant tweet (we'll see if this works, my embedding skills are worse than my hyperlinking abilities):

Yeah, I’ll be hoping there’s not a new thread for every tweet disrespecting Nebraska this season!

Just for a bit longer

Agreed. Scott Frost should get to own week 0. He's earned it and he shouldn't be shortchanged.
You can still hear the echo of the facepalming Nebraska fans screaming "Nooooooooooo!" after the onside kick. His house might just be buried in corn when he gets home.
August 28th, 2022 at 8:52 PM ^
100%. This will all calm down when the real season starts, but let us have some fun at Scott’s expense this week. I encourage and support further clever stuff like this.

Scott Frost: putting the "ass" in Nebraska since 1995.
August 29th, 2022 at 1:31 PM ^
This was a conference game! It was the "real season."

I've seen Real Genius probably 3-dozen times. Underrated!

Just until October when his buyout drops, he won't make it past the first loss he has in October. His buyout drops from $15 million to $7.5 million after October 1. The math says he'll make it at least until then.
Oct 1- Indiana
Oct 7- @Rutgers
Oct 15- @Purdue
Oct 29- Illinois
Take your pick, he gets fired after one of these games because at best they'll be 2-2 at end of September. He's on borrowed time.
August 28th, 2022 at 8:54 PM ^
It really defies logic that he’s lost this many one-score games (in his tenure and, recently, in a row). Doesn’t get old to see him engineer new ways to step on it.
August 29th, 2022 at 8:05 AM ^
He’s primed for the Leo’s triennial coaching search in 2024.
August 29th, 2022 at 9:53 AM ^
I questioned Fitzgerald running the ball 10 (!?!) straight and punt deep to give N final possession.
Thus why Fitz has been there so long and deserves his unquestioned place at Northwestern.
August 28th, 2022 at 10:11 PM ^
@ Purdue might be the favorite, but I'll take @ Rutgers.
EDIT: One score game of course. Rutgers wins on a field goal.
EDIT 2: The field goal hits an upright, but counts. A man can dream, right?
EDIT 3: I really prefer he makes it to Nov 12 and gets curb-stomped, followed by a hot-mic incident where Harbaugh asks him if he thinks he outhit us this time.
EDIT 4: Frost is interviewed after the game by Charles Woodson.

Ninja, why fire him in October - unless the team is 1-7, or 2-6?
For their AD to address all these boosters - who love Frost -you have to wait until a losing season is guaranteed … which is seven losses. It’s JMHO.
August 28th, 2022 at 10:51 PM ^
His career coaching record is a .479 Win %, 34-37. What more is there to know?

21-37 if you take out that UCF outlier.
August 28th, 2022 at 9:54 PM ^
I won’t be surprised if by the end of the season Nebraska is “out-tweeting” every FCS conference-ran Twitter page. That’s what really matters*
*Along with out-hitting and out-puking it’s opponents
August 28th, 2022 at 11:38 PM ^
He probably has to beat Oklahoma to make it through the season. Otherwise, I agree he is probably gone sometime in October.
August 28th, 2022 at 6:10 PM ^
Man, you gotta love it.
Brings to mind that tweet from Wendy's when Michigan gave Nebraska that 56-10 beatdown in 2018. Never seems to get old...

The frosty is almost ice cream.
Frost is almost a coach
August 28th, 2022 at 7:09 PM ^
There's no need to insult the world's best cold gelatinous imitation dairy beverage.
August 28th, 2022 at 7:55 PM ^
There's an argument to be made that a Frosty has qualities that put it at/above ice cream level. The main point being that you can't dip fries in packed ice cream. A distant second is that people see the Wendy's cup and think it may be a beverage, but if they see you with a waffle cone on a Tuesday night in the middle of December, they judge the shit out of you.

but if they see you with a waffle cone on a Tuesday night in the middle of December, they judge the shit out of you.
First, that’s hilarious. Thank you.
Second, one of the things I love about living in Minnesota, it’s cold 5-6 months a year. No one can give up ice cream cones that long. The ice cream shops are fully busy all winter long…and no judgment is cast…they save that shit for everything else.

Come on now. Nebraska can easily out-puke any Big Sky team.

If you had a choice - would you want Nebraska in your conference?
August 28th, 2022 at 10:55 PM ^
I'm kind of torn. Keep them as long as Frost is here for the sheer catharsis of '97, then no. Go back to the Big 12 and lose to Baylor. Bring on the PAC-12 crowd.
August 28th, 2022 at 11:27 PM ^
It’s a fair question with realignment. With football in the pits, they bring very little athletically, and are a “down” school in all other respects. They’re not close, so if we’re getting bigger, dump them to add a Stanford/Oregon/Washington, or yes, ND.
August 29th, 2022 at 8:40 AM ^
SF and Maize - honestly, I hadn’t thought of expansion in that context - return Nebraska to the Big 12 - to make room for another team.
Frankly, I like the idea. It returns Nebraska to an environment where they can experience delusions of grandeur.
And, it opens up another spot in the conference.
Nebraska is the ONLY B1G team who is not an AAU member.

Hey Scott, learn from our MBB team, "Do more, Say less", vs "Puke more, win less".
