The "never having an issue" is so important to me, so I tend to grudgingly accept the convenience of StubHub and don't think too deeply about the fees.   I also search for tickets with fees included in the price.  In my limited experience, the ticket market usually adjusts organically with fees in mind.

I also suggest that people perform a dry run and research ticket price fluctuations for a game that they are not planning on attending.   It's very educational for both high and low demand games.

Pretty much this. StubHub is easy to bookmark and set up price alerts. The fees suck but counterfeit tickets suck harder.

The app also allows you to wait out the market to the last second in order to find the bargains. I let a buddy buy $120 tickets for the Maryland game that I could easily get for $80-$100 in the days leading up to the game. This was probably a mistake but peace of mind means a lot to him.

I use SeatGeek all the time personally for purchases and sales.

When I used to be in that business, I found them to have the largest selection available. Their fees aren't too bad and they take care of you if there's ever an issue with a ticket

Best option w/ zero fees is the mgoblog spreadsheet. I've used it a handful of times in the past and have had a great experience every time.

Alumni association ticket exchange was a great place to sell tickets as well. Save on fees both ways and guaranteed to be selling to a michigan fan.

Never purchased tickets but figured I would share.

I always try to purchase direct from the university first and I have also found success on the MgoBlog ticket spreadsheet.

if those fail Stub Hub might cost slightly more but convenience and peace of mind are valuable.

Just had my first negative experience by buying hard-copy tickets that had to be mailed like 3 days before the concert from StubHub. Tix arrived in nearby City 2 days before I flew out, but for some reason didn't ship out until the following Monday after the show. Was a problem on the shipper, but still would recommend against buying hard-copy tickets. My refund experience has also been a total cluster trying to get StubHub to respond - lots of being put on hold then getting disconnected.

Word to the wise - buy digital tickets only, even if it's slightly more expensive.

FYI this can never happen with StubHub with them being the official resale partner of UM.  The seller has to upload the barcode numbers of their tickets and it regenerates a new barcode for the same seats and invalidates the old one.  In case it wasn't clear, the new tickets are also electronic.  I'm guessing your experience was for another event as you reference it being a concert but you still make a great point.

Also: even SeatGeek has fees.  They have to in order to make money.  They just simply add them into their pricing first, which does make it more convenient to compare.  In the end, all that matters is the final price anyway.  Hope this was helpful.

The BEST place to buy tickets used to be right here on MGoBlog spreadsheet but alas, there’s apparently no time for it anymore. More like no interest.

I have had success with buying and selling football tickets in the Michigan Season Ticket Holders group on Facebook.  No fees!  All tickets can be transferred electronically.

When attempting to use the Ticketmaster web site, be careful that you avoid ending up on the Ticketsmeters website by mistake.  I bought Detroit Lions tickets through that site and as of 11:00 a.m. on the day of the game had no tickets.  Tried to fight it with Amex to no avail.

Be careful!
