Best non-HTTV location for analysis of other CFB teams?
My favorite part of HTTV is the scouting reports for other teams. I absolutely love reading those because, IMO, they have the perfect balance of realism with a splash of snark (my guess is 42-27 reasons Michigan can win at the Shoe will be discussed).
Where do you folks go to read about other teams? Everything I find online is garbage.
For actual season previews and not just clickbait-y blog headlines, I like the actual magazines that you find with the local team on the cover.
I like Athlon a lot. They get coaches to anonymously dish on either teams and it's normally pretty illuminating.
Not trolling, that’s a pleasant surprise to hear. I stopped reading them awhile ago because I found the analysis pretty limited. I’ll definitely give them another chance.
The Solid Verbal's preview series should be starting in the next week or two. Since the Solid Verbal primarily exists in podcast form, you'll have to listen rather than read. Their previews cover ever P5 conference in depth and every G5 conference in summary. Given the immense scope of the undertaking, Dan and Ty do a pretty good job of giving every their full attention and identifying the current state of college football.
Unfortunately, I am not counting on a HTTV this year, 51 days before the season opener and no fund drive to speak of.
Brian needs to spend some of those revenue dollars to hire another staff member to help Seth et al if he doesn’t want to deal with the site.
Phil Steele CFB Preview magazine
This is the way.
Phil steele, always. No matter what it says, i always read it. Used to read athlon, lindys, and others. Just narrowed it down to steele.
