Beilein teaching class & training puppy
I think that it's somewhat known that John Beilein is teaching John Bacon's class at the School of Education, but thought this was an interesting look at his life now back in Ann Arbor as a teacher/dog owner/semi-retiree. Also, it is quite "on brand" to me at least that he takes the puppy training process so seriously.

now that's a guy who could teach an ethics class, as opposed to a certain lying, cheating, disgraced football coach (or two) from a certain large community college south of ann arbor.

That puppy will put Air Bud's career 3pt FG% to shame.

We are REALLY fortunate to have some such good coaches and good people as Beilein and Howard.

His first puppy (Mitchell) liked to smoke weed.

Thanks again Mitch for not telling the coaches you smoked weed. They can test you and suspend you 3 games. Instead you are one of the few people to fail a NCAA administered drug test.

John Beilein belongs in Ann Arbor. Enjoy life, coach.

Transparency+Integrity+Ethics+Compassion=Beilein
I feel more fortunate to have him as our coach than any other in my lifetime anyway...and we've had some good ones.

I heard he had a sub, it was crazy

Don't forget the chicken wings.
Beilein is probably my favorite Michigan coach ever. Love that guy. Wish we would have won an NC for him.

Dog training is all about the fundamentals.

Unless one is in Cleveland. A bunch of slugs.

Slug training is about the secondaries?

Especially pad level.

Yeah, but can his dog run a pick and roll? Or is that a 2 or 3-year old puppy trick?

Not sure it's such a great thing to have Beilein looming around until after he retires.

He's not Lloyd Carr. The program will be fine.

I'm guessing the puppy is a low 3-star, but after four years will be selected in the NBA Draft.

4 years, more like 2 at most.
Beilein will then get sick of recruiting new puppies every year.

...and he’s all out of puppy.

Pure class. Hope he hangs around for a long time.

Jeez, I don't believe have to explain J-school 101: if you have a story about a puppy, include a picture!

Damn straight you know what ball is being used to play fetch

I took that class with Bacon last year. Enjoyed it, but kind of regretting it because now I can't repeat it with Professor Beilein.
Bacon did take us to Ashley's though, so Beilein has a lot to live up to.

So he meant to call his puppy a “pug,” but he can understand why the puppy might have misheard it as “thug.”

I really wish he hadn’t gone to Cleveland. Of course hindsight is 20/20. Glad he’s back and enjoying life.
