Bacon said something interesting on 105.1

Submitted by M Gulo Gulo on

He said his souces wouldnt go on record so it is not in Endzone, but a caller brought up that Bandon made personel recommendations when he came in to watch film on Sundays with the staff (so not cool) and said he was thinking of firing Hoke midway through last season and bringing in Greg Schiano. Did anyone else hear about this or have any more information?

As mentioned Bacon said he couldnt go into it but the way his voice sounded it wasnt difficult to tell there had to be some truth behind it.

Well, if you don't put it into context, then sure, the next AD would be a little put off.  But any AD worth his salt, after hearng the reason by he told the last AD to "fuck off", would probably agree with his reasons and be impressed.

OMFG - Brandon resides at the corner of Cookoo & Nuthouse.

As much as I disliked Tom Goss, Brandon is easily the worst AD this school has ever had. Even Joe Roberson was better, who never should have been allowed to shitcan Moeller.

I wonder if this guy wanted to deliberately destroy Michigan football. He did fire RR, which was the right move, but he behaved in an Orwellian manner. The very fact that his gigantic mug was featured in one of the promo videos shown during games where Bo's "The Team" speech is quoted by various people is frightening.

What a fucking cunt.

2 comments: 1 - Even if you don't care for the hosts, this hour long podcast is an absolute "must listen." It is probably the single most important behind the scenes look we've had to date, and it gives a great preview for the book. 2 - If you needed evidence that Sam Webb is plugged in, this provides it implicitly. The week before the Minnesota game, Sam "suggested" that Morris would start during the Roundtable segment. All three contributors groaned audibly. Then, when Brian discussed coaching candidates during thr roundtable the week after, Sam brought up Schiano sua sponte. Sam also led the charge against the student walkout of the PSU game.

Here comes another it wasn't coach Rich Rods fault book. It was Drew, Alumni, AD, etc,. I don't understand how this is tolerated. Hoke was in charge and he failed. He could have stood up to Brandon, the players that's didn't respect him being soft and coached the damn team. He wanted to be a pussy and a players coach, which is admirable. Rich Rod wanted to keep his DC, which was admirable. They sucked and got fired.

When JUB says something "bad" about Dave Brandon in a book and DB doesn't respond, the "bad" news is nonetheless accepted as gospel.

On the other hand, when JUB said something "bad" about Lloyd Carr in a previous book, and Carr refuses to respond, the accuracy of JUB's comments are questioned.

In Carr's case we have evidence from the rest of his 30-year tenure here (and beyond) to suggest he has a lot of personal integrity, which makes some of the claims about him in Three and Out hard to understand.  I have to believe the truth is more complicated than it was portrayed, although we'll probably never get his side of the story.

In Brandon's case, while there are some who will vouch for him (to be fair), there are just so many reports of people being treated poorly by him that it's easy to accept the book's take on him.  And from what I understand, Bacon tried to make the book as balanced as he could, including some interviews with pro-Brandon people.

Confirmation bias, and all that.

But if Deflategate taught me anything, it's that unconfirmed sources and hearsay are not to be trusted until you hear the whole story.
