Neb went 2-0 over M the 1st weekend of the conf. season in March. However, they never played Northwestern (the reg. seasons champs who M beat in dramic fasion last night).
Expect Storako in the circle, she didn't pitch yesterday against the 'cats. However, Hutch may go off the board depending on how she feels about the results against the Huskers and who was in the circle for those two losses. /hedging
A win might lock in a 2 seed for M in the NCAAs, but this likely doesn't matter much since a 3 seed is probably already locked in and the 3s plays the 2s anyway in the opening rounds. More important is the draw against the host (top 16 national sees).
In other news, M W lax beat the snot out of ND to advance to the NCAA 2nd round against NW. Tough draw against the 'cats but that was a big win for the program and the Director's Cup so if that's the way it ends for WLax (beating ND in the tourney) so be it. Men's Lax did not make the NCAA tourney.
Baseball lost by one to Maryland. They need to win the B1G Tourney to make the NCAAs. Long shot with limited pitching depth.

Regardless, they likely clawed their way back to a 2-seed for a regional with a strong finish to the regular season. Now, we hope they don't get sent to Oklahoma for next weekend.
Beyond the top 16 seeds, the NCAA leans almost exclusively on location/travel distance for the 2/3 seeds, and then they do the same with the mostly small conference autobid 4 seeds. They try to maximize the amount of teams that can travel by bus within 400 miles. So, this really didn’t change anything for Michigan. I was expecting them to be sent to Notre Dame if they sneak in as a 16, but I think they choked early in the ACC tourney. After that, I don’t believe any top 16 seeds are within the 400 mile radius, so we could be sent anywhere as a team that will have to fly. We will be slotted in the 2/3 game after they fill in the other spots in regions that are close between other schools.
in other news, mens tennis is tied 2-2 with Texas, and the three remaining matches are all in the third set.

As I watched the replay drag on and on and the announcer being convinced it wasn’t an out, I knew what the call was ultimately going to be because what would an important key point of any Michigan game in any sport be without a big FU to us by the officials?
