Audio (and License) of The Victors for UM usage

Submitted by Mgthefrenchy on April 23rd, 2020 at 8:24 PM

Hey guys.

I am looking for a digital audio copy of the victors.
One of the department at UM asked me to create a video for an "online" graduation.

I am looking to buy a license of the music (Not for several hundreds of dollars).
It might be posted on their youtube channel.

Anyone have one or know a link somewhere?

UM apparently does have but ask a fee that is - ridicule- and it takes up to three weeks to get it...

What are you looking for exactly? I have multiple versions of The Victors from MMB CDs I could send you.

I am confused. If this is an official video for UM you shouldn't need to buy a license or get any permission. Just rip it from a YouTube video or something.

I won't answer your question, but at least maybe give you some comfort to "pirate" something from the MMB.

When my father (an alum) passed away, my mother wanted to the church organist to play the fight song at his funeral.  Someone at the MMB sent her organ sheet music free of charge - which our whole family really appreciated.

I have to imagine that for a school sanctioned event, there's wouldn't be any charge for the the use of their music.

The score is free of right.
But when someone plays it they tweak the arrangement and that fall under the copyright.

Yeah we would imagine UM for UM is free... But you have to know I make most of my money out of Photos right sold to UM because the UM official photos are too expensive, and the right too complex.
