Yeah... good thing we will not be joining said Bearcat fans in mourning the football program this weekend.

Herm Edwards has been a huge surprise. Did not think he would find as much success at ASU as he has. They're still not an elite team. But he's recruiting well there and Pac 12 is not a world beater conference so it wouldnt take a huge jump to get to the upper echelon of that league.

Don't want to start a frivolous thread but I get these alerts on my phone and there is one out there claiming Joe Milton is threatening to transfer and put up 50 on us if he plays against us I imagine.

Anyone have any legit info on this? If true that would be a fucked up thing to say and if he did say that, what would have happened to piss him off enough to say that?

Is the program in that much shambles?

Hell of a win by ASU. They destroyed UA. Even more intriguing is their future. I think the state was like 70% of the roster is undergrads, and they are the 6th youngest FBS team. Combined with all of the legit NFL caliber coaches on their roster, they might make some real noise in 2021.

Did anyone see who Arizona’s QB was in the 2nd half? RichRod’s son!

The fall of Kevin Sumlin has been pretty crazy. He’ll be gone from AZ within the next year or two.

He was never a great coach, and road on the success of the Oklahoma offensive machine set up by his predecessors. Then got to Houston and rode many of Art Briles recruits, which got him to A&M, where Manziel (who was recruited by Mike Sherman) made him appear to be a top coach for 2 years. Since Manziel left, it’s been all downhill for his career.

ASU is an excellent young team. They make stupid penalties like ineligible man downfield which may have added another 1-2 scores on to the final score (and cost them last week's game vs UCLA), but that's youth. Talentwise and coaching, that's a really good team that will surprise a lot of people next year. Herm Edwards estimated that 90% of his roster will be back in 2021. I'm thinking top of the Pac 12 with Oregon, and maybe a Top 10-15 ranking.

Arizona was already in bad shape when RR arrived, the RR circus simply gave UA a couple respectable upsets, one ten win season and a whole host of stupid games with dumb special teams mistakes, dumb defensive strategy, a couple overhyped mediocre QB's who couldn't stay healthy and a bunch of losses that ultimately led to his dismissal along with an embarrasing sexual harrasment lawsuit.

In his 6 years RR made them respectable and didn't really embarrass their legacy.  Sumlin seems to be trending downward quickly.   In that division of the Pac12 he's maybe the 5th best coach at the 5th or 6th best recruiting school.

Yes I watched Arizona football when Rodriguez was coach. The first three years after he got there they were a dangerous football team! That is if you watch them you would know that for sure and that's impressive given how bad they were before he got there. They beat USC.. Oregon twice.. blew out Washington and dominated Utah every year. 2012 was an almost instant success with Matt Scott at quarterback they were eight and five with a few close close losses. If he had Matt Scott in 2013 they would have had another 10 or 11 win season like they did in 2014. The program kind of started to fall apart for a couple years until Khalil Tate emerged his sophomore year. Would have been some of the best offenses Rodriguez has produced. But would have been should have been could have been is the story of Rodriguez's coaching career...
