Apparently Tom Herman Was Coach #2 With Smith At The Strip Club

Submitted by Tom Snow on

This is obviously a NCAA violation, and will be interesting to see how it plays out in Texas. LINK

Why is it an NCAA violation? I think these are the questions to answer:

Is it because that was an inducement of a HS coach while recruiting? If so, when does - for example - a restaurant meal or strip club experience qualify as an inducement? And if the answer is always, was this $600 tab just for Zach or for the whole table?

Even if you get to question #3 and predict it was for the whole table, I seriously doubt the NCAA (even if it were trying its hardest with the power it has) will ever find that evidence.

My bad for the post and not being clear (since I can't edit). Violation is because they took high school coaches. Not a huge violation by any means.

This is a gigantic nothingburger. While I haven't been to a strip club in many, many years, I have fond memories of them and coming home to my girlfriend covered in glitter and the smell of vanilla body spray. Good times, good times...

So, Tom Herman was accused by countless Buckeye fans as being the “whistleblower”.  Later, the “Investigative Report” slanted with opinions of “Urban Meyer and Gene Smith acting in Good Faith” and “not believed to be intentionally lying” is used as basis to reinstate Meyer pending a 3-game suspension.  Tom Herman later implicated in potential NCAA violations conducted with OSU fall guy and rogue employee Zach Smith.  Interesting....

Retaliation perhaps?

What about this is an NCAA violation? If they used their own money and didn't pay for high school coaches stuff its not a violation.

Why is a strip club a violation ? Is it illegal for coaches but yet not for the rest of the populace?

Herman at worst will get a minor slap on the wrist.   Beyond that, I doubt anything will stick. Right now, he's the savior of the Longhorns (and may well deliver on it).
