Another look at Maize socks on the Road (modeled by Devin Gardner!)

I find them repulsive. Not because of their influence on a perfect college uniform, but because they are yellow. Fucking. Socks. There could not be a more ugly piece of clothing.

To be honest, I wouldn't have even noticed socks were a particular color if it hadn't been pointed out on the threads. Bee costumes a la Hoke? That's different.

I thought the socks yesterday were inside out. The sides and back have emblems not shown in these pics as well. 1st thing - obviously have too much time on my hands 2nd thing - I hate how much I like socks 3rd thing - this is a good look but would like to see the blue pants, white jersey and maize sock look. Might be corny and ugly ... might be killer

Not feeling the maize socks with the all whites, but if the players dig them that's what really matters.

they are using above the knee pants (or are they long shorts?) this year. 

Don't care too much, but for what it's worth, I like these maize socks better than the white last year.

Alas, what Gardner's career could've been had he gotten just one year with Harbaugh. Harbaugh could've re-built Gardner from the ground up and made him a pretty darn good QB. He had the whole skillset but Hoke could never find a way to put it all together. Or find an OL that could protect him. One year and I think Harbaugh would've made him an NFL draft pick.

Oh yeah, the socks. Really don't care for them. If you want maize, just go back to the maize pants. Love the all-white uniforms, but I think the maize socks look kind of goofy.

Still not feeling the maize socks... but I love that Devin is the model. His time here was so fraught, it's good to see he still feels that deep connection to the program.

At the risk of offending Bando, I just want to say:  Those socks look dope, man!

So is this likely to be the look against Florida? Has it been published yet who is wearing home vs. away unis?

I feel like I would like it better if it were for a cold-weather game and they were pulled up all the way, but along with most, I'm in favor of just wearing the Maize pants and calling it a day.

Ehh, I always liked the all white look with white pants and white socks. With the socks rolled up to the knee, it looked like the uniform of an old French monarch or something, classy and empowered. With maize socks, they look a bit corny imo. Same with maize pants. But whatever they're just socks.
