Why not let players get drafted and paid by pro teams while in college? The pro team gets the benefit of player getting game experience and growing - treating college as a minor league of sorts. Watching college hockey lately it seems like nearly every guy has been drafted by a team and it hasn't hurt the sport, now just force those NHL teams to pay a salary if they want to keep the rights to those players.

Milton has no downfield touch or accuracy, moves poorly in the pocket ('moves' being kind), runs upright and goes down on first contact. No wonder McCaffrey left in disgust. For the past two years they favored Patterson because....he's really good at the practice facility? These coaches are clueless at evaluating and developing quarterbacks. For that reason alone someone who had the reputation of being a quarterback whisperer should be fired.
Perfect time to rethink college athletics. We have too many teams and athletes in college sports. There are only a couple revenue generating sports and the rest are a drag on the athletic department and/or the general fund of a university. Just because you are really good at a very minor sport doesn't mean you should go to college for free. Join a club team if you love playing so much.
I would propose for each non-revenue sport that two conferences with the most geographic and historical advantages be the only two conference with varsity scholarships for that sport. The winner of each conference plays for the national title. For instance, women's volleyball would only be a varsity sport in the Big Ten and the Pac-12. Men's wrestling only the Big Ten and Big 12. Swimming the SEC and Pac-12, etc. Try to even it out a bit among the Power Five conference that have large enough football budgets to pay for the handful of non-revenue sports that conference is playing varsity in.
Dirtiest sport by far, especially in that era, which is why his seven wins are legit - everyone else was cheating. If we are all cheating, then the best athlete who is equally cheating will win. Someone tried to figure out who would have won with Lance's DQs but all the top finishers ended up with a PED violation at some point around that era. It was a joke.

My point is the 'meh' talent was enough to win the conference back then but this lineup would be average at best in the modern Big Ten. I don't know what happened in the Bahamas but the team has been the biggest let down since year one Rich Rod. Without Livers no one can shoot. Teske and Simpson are no longer elite defenders. Wagner has played himself out of the NBA and is very not good (plus his three point shot looks like it is from women's basketball). The sophomore class hasn't turned into legitimate Big Ten players. Teske and Simpson must stop shooting threes (and being our primary pick and roll combo) and the announcers have to stop saying that Teske has added the three to his game - he hasn't and has only gotten worse. People could argue that the Big Ten is really good this year but in Mock Drafts there is only one player (Oturo) in the late first round and only a couple second rounders. There isn't great talent in the conference and it is winnable but we are just plain bad.

We went to the soccer match last weekend and the ticket takers were saying every person, even infants, need a ticket which I find ridiculous but that appears to be the policy.
Shea will never play a meaningful down in the NFL. Dylan will be a good starter in the NFL. Gattis knows Dylan fits his system better and this is the most politically correct (in terms of football team dynamics) way for them to auto-bench Shea for half of the game. Bravo! We are better with Dylan in the game.
