Another #FridayThe13th Upset: Unranked Cal DEMOLISHES #8 Washington State, 37-3.
UPDATE:
California absolutely destroys previously unbeaten #8 Washington State on both sides of the ball en route to a 37-3 upset win. It's only the second win over a Top 10 team in the past 50 years for Cal (the other was in 2003 against USC in 3OT).
Wazzu was, amazingly, a 16.5 point favorite coming into the game and lost by 33. That's a 49.5 point swing in the spread.
The turnover margin was 7-0 in favor of the Golden Bears.
So...our offense is better than Mike Leach's?

I apologize, my bad. Didn't check to see if there was one first, just saw the upset thread for Clemson earlier and followed suit.
Hopefully, this can be updated to an upset complete later (*crosses fingers*)

They finished with SEVEN turnovers. I don't how many possessions WSU had, but it couldn't have been much more than seven.
I think Saturday could be much of the same as far as upsets go. No two ranked teams play each other, but many ranked teams are on the road against fairly good teams. Should be a great day of football. Penn St with a bye should now move into the #2 slot. Michigan needs to win today and then get ready to take out the #2 team next week.

I wonder if Wazzu boards are currently filled with posts about Leach's bad offense, if he is the right coach for Wazzu and player effort.

Cal defense with 6 sacks! Go Bears!

Washington State doing its best to outdo Michigan's ball security issues.
Currently 0-5 in turnovers, and we're only halfway through the third.

5 TO for WSU.... sounds familiar for some reason

Unfortunately they’re Coug’ing it, as it’s known out west. Watching it happen in a similar fashion to Michigan’s last game is also painful.

I agree. Was thrilled to see them beat USC, will be rooting for them to beat Washington and win the PAC 12.
But a 1 or 2 loss PAC 12 WSU champ is better for us than an undefeated one.

Apple Cup should be awesome this year.

If a decent defense makes Wazzu look like that, that Washington is going to eviscerate the Cougars

They destroyed them last year too, and this year's game moves to Seattle from Pullman.

20-3 lead going into the fourth for Cal.
WSU looks exactly like we did last week on offense, but with a much worse defense.

It's just different than the Midwest or South. You know what I mean. God damn I love living here though. A little bit too sunny. Too low humidity. Getting sick of that though.
