Another Crystal Ball For Collins Acheampong to Michigan
While there was some uncertainty with Acheampong delaying his commitment(with rumors that Miami was leading because of an NIL offer), it looks like Michigan is in a good spot in his recruitment. Acheampong is set to announce at 3:00pm EST today and the Wolverines hold all of the Crystal Balls.
Miami staff writer Gaby Urrutia put in a Crystal Ball for Michigan last night, and he is 13/13 on the year.
Hopefully another solid pickup today for the Maize & Blue! Acheampong is the 269th rated player in the 2023 class according to the composite.
"Michigan must be giving him the bag" - Miami fans, probably
"I wish Michigan gave him the bag and they are extending other large bags to top recruits" -Me
Get the goal post excavation equipment out for the doomers.
I'm just glad the team won't be comprised exclusively of walk-on's going forward since Michigan had, allegedly, given up on all recruiting efforts.
If by giving up on all recruiting efforts you mean not recruiting those who expect or demand large, immediate NIL deals... I'm sure you're correct.
Pretty darn good offer list with seeing Miami, LSU, USC, and Florida on there. Looks like he'd be a really good get!
Seems like Miami is on the verge of landing Jayden Wayne who's a top 5 edge so that may also be related.
I don't know if it was someone (Seth?) comparing him to Ojabo, or the Greg Oden-esque old man face, but Acheampong looks like a bad man. Maybe it is the squint or the lean figure, but he's got a Clint Eastwood vibe in the photo.
I think they compared him to Ojabo due to his heritage. But with his size, he may end up more along the Hutchinson role instead.
He's an attempt to Ojabo a Hutchinson. Probably closer to Taco Charlton overall
I'm okay with all of those...
I see Shawn Oakman (at Baylor, not after) potential with Collins.

They could play the theme from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly after every sack...
How do you pronounce his last name?
Smith
LOL. +1.
Agent Smith.
Smith
Collins is easier to say.
I replied to the wrong person...
Believe it’s pretty phonetic - ach—eem—pong with a little emphasis on the eem
First round draft pick
It's "Shi-SHEV-ski."
I need a bong
6’ 7” 254 lb dual sport athlete. Yes please.
6'7" 254lbs and looks like he can bring the pain. Bring this man to Ann Arbor!
That pic has gotta be up there for most Jumpman logos in one pic, I got 7.
8 if you count the little blonde tuft of his hair jumping out from the rest - looks badass actually
I was debating whether or not the highlight was intended to be the logo but I decided negative on that one. Could be though.
Transformers let’s roll out
Etta, Acheampong, and potentially Harbor would be a fantastic edge haul
Weren’t we recruiting Harbors teammate as well? His name escapes me.
Joseph Mupoyi, but he fell off the map for some unspecified reason several weeks ago. Not too sure what's going on with his recruitment as it's been very quiet.
Lance Harbor already committed to Florida State.
Deja vu
all over again
I wonder if USC/UCLA joining the BIG will be a positive for Cali recruiting (more possible opportunities for family and friends to see them in person and on TV) or a negative (they can stay home and still get the greater national exposure from being in the BIG).
An interesting dynamic here as California has really declined as a talent producer. In 2023 there are 28 composite 4*. Florida has 78, Texas has 68, and Georgia has 39. Alabama has really grown and has 21.
Wonder if that has more to do with Covid affecting football being played in CA and subsequently talent being scouted than talent actually declining in CA
I think you're right that it was a factor. It was 34-32 Georgia over California in the 2020 class. Florida had 59 and Texas had 55. Still, I think it's clear California is now battling for 3rd behind Florida and Texas
wow. 6'7". i see a lot of batted down passes in his future.
Is it 3 yet?
