Alabama is going to beat Georgia. Georgia hasn't played a team with a pulse yet this year.

I hope Cincinnati beats Houston but I wouldn't be surprised to see the Cougars pull it out.

The fighting Hokes are also playing Utah State on Fox

I dispute that Saban is the greatest coach. He has the greatest bag men in the history of the game, who buy the top recruiting classes every year, and he hires lots of good assistants. He's certainly a winning coach, but he's also sitting in the greatest situation of any coach in college football. He was a little above average at Michigan State, and bombed in the NFL.

At MSU, Saban's program was on probation his first four years, from Perles's violations.  When they finally got off probation he went 10-2 and then left for LSU.

Saban inherited an LSU program that hadn't won anything in 40 years.  He won a national title there in his fourth season.

At Bama, he inherited a program in disarray.  He's won, what, five national titles?  If he has the greatest situation of any coach, it's because he built it.  Other SEC programs have bagmen, too.

He's a legit great coach.

Alabama big play score.

I'm afraid of they keep it close and they still lose the committee is going to put them in because SEC bias, where all losses are good losses.

Holding call stalls out Houston's drive. A field goal makes it 14-13 Cincinatti lead. Houston has done nothing on defense so far. Important defensive drive coming up for them.

Only two dominant teams in the SEC and they are both playing today. Talking heads want to make it seem like they should have 6 teams in all the time. Most conferences have 1-2 really good teams and the rest are good to average. Michigan and Ohio St for example, the rest of the B1G is average. Big 12 really has nobody elite. PAC 12 same thing. That’s why Bama may still make it in even if they lose this closely. They can stay in front of Notre Dame, especially if Cinci doesn’t win big.
In the end, just beat Iowa!

Maybe tales of Bama’s demise were premature. I know one thing don’t want to take on a Saban team with three weeks to prepare if they win and if we beat Iowa.

I'm right to think an Alabama win here would be a disaster right?  Forecloses any chance of making it with a loss, and since they won't rematch these teams in the first round means we play Georgia in the semis with a win?

Well, it's gonna be nice with no Clemson and no OSU in the playoff.

But Bama's payroll is just too high.  They didn't get their money's worth last week when they played awful at Auburn and needed multiple ignored penalties by the refs to force overtime.  Now, they're getting their money's worth.  We're never going to be free of them.
