AFC/NFC Championship - Game Day

Mates,

Later today we get the AFC and NFC Championship games.  Last weekends games were epic, one after the other, with the finale being a mind-blowing OT game with Buffalo and the Chiefs.  I read a funny one on Monday:  Super Bowl cancelled;  NFL to schedule best-of-7 series with Chiefs and Bills.

Today's games start with the AFC finalists, a 10-7 Cincinnati team vs. those 12-5 Chiefs.  The Chiefs are favored by a TD and the game is on CBS

Chiefs             7               Bengals.

The second game of the day is a rematch of sorts and identical records of 12-5 vs. 10-7.  LA will host the 49'ers, with LA as a 3.5 point favorite. The 49'ers have had the Rams' number of late, winning 6 straight including 2 this year, 27-24 in LA to start the regular season, and a 31-10 win at San Francisco's place.   This game is on FOX.

LA                 3.5             49'ers

Picking with the points, who are you taking?   And is there any way we can get these games to be like last week's?  Would be so much fun to have barn-burners.

Have a great Sunday,

Right???

The only team I can conjure the tiniest amount of sympathy for is Cleveland.  There are no other teams that elicit the scarcest amount of feels from me...  When friends at work start whining about the WFT, I pretty much tell them to F Off while reminding them of the Super Bowls their team has won.

I'm rooting for the Niners the rest of the way.  They are not a team of superstars, but they play inspired, tough-ass football.  Debo Samuel is must watch television.

I've grown tired of the Chiefs, so I'll root for the Bengals today. I think however, the Chiefs will win and go onto win the SB.

Should be some wings and beers involved today.

Rams have too much firepower - will be hard for the Niners to stay close I think.

Chiefs have liabilities on defense - but experience and too much offensive talent wins the day.

Chiefs / Rams in SB - with Stafford and Rams winning it.

I don't have a rooting interest in any of these teams, except maybe the Rams - because of Stafford.  He deserves a SB win as much as anyone, and I wouldn't mind seeing it.  Dude gave what he had for the Lions, and still loves that organization.  Besides, who better to win than the guy that dethroned Tom fucking' Brady?

The upstart Bengals are a feisty bunch playing with house money, and the Chiefs may start slowly after last week's fireworks. It'll be close at the half, but the Chiefs pull away in the fourth. Frank Clark will get to know Joe Burrow very well. Chiefs cover, 34-20.

In the nightcap, it'll be a comfortable Rams win. They're a much more balanced offense with Akers back. So as long as he doesn't cough up the ball twice, giving Garoppolo short fields, I don't see how SF can keep pace. Rams 30-17.

vlady, you're not worried about the 6 game winning streak, including two with stafford at the helm for the rams?

older brother did say that the three 49'er pro bowl guys all limped off the field last week and might not play or play banged-up at best.  said jimmy g. is also dinged up.  could indeed be the rams' day today.

The NFL has so much money dependent on match ups. It’s not really enjoyable to watch. The key QBs are living in a glass house. KC is always holding when Mahommes runs around. It’s comical watching and zero holding calls. They tackle defenders and it’s allowed. It’s too bad.
