Gotta be the Gators in the Citrus... that'll be a big draw for them.

UF or LSU in the Citrus...I've heard UF.

Wait they go but not Texas?

we've talked about this in the Afternoon and Night Games Thread when you've asked...
It's APR
December 6th, 2015 at 12:14 AM ^
Since when does APR matter for anything when it comes to bowls?
Used to just seeing brand names getting the nod etc.

When it was 6-6 teams it didn't matter. They'd always take the Texas.
But because they don't have enough teams to fill the bowl schedule and they allow 5-7 teams now that we have 192 bowls. That's been the tiebreaker for all 5-7 teams.

It's not personal preference.
Texas isn't even in the top 10. They're like the 15th choice.

6-6 and 5-7 teams should be home for the holidays. Maybe fans should stop showing up at these things so the NCAA gets the point.

This was the attendance for the Ford Field bowl, even when power 5 teams were playing in it.

Well that's just bad team selection there... Rutgers and UNC in... Detroit?
lol.

If you look carefully in this photo, you can see the North Carolina fan.
In all honesty though, I am pretty sure that the attendance for the MAC Championship game, which wasn't bad at all for that game, will probably not be eclipsed by the bowl game to be played in Ford Field in a few weeks. Strangely enough, I think the best attendance I can remember was when Purdue was in it a few years ago - at least a few dozen folks made the trek up from West Lafayette.

It helped that they played CMU. The key to having good attendance at this game was to have Central or Western in it.

I love trekking up 75 to go watch BGSU play in the MAC Championship every year. Detroit Beer Co. is a favorite stop for me.

Play the quarterfinals of an 8-team tournament at the home site of the top 4 seed.
So it wouldn't have any impact on the current bowl structure.
Do the quarterfinals at the home site to provide a home field advantage...and then do everything else exactly how it's done now with the neutral site.

They must have discussed it to some extent since they came up with a tiebreaker scenario for the 5-7 teams.

If the athletic department were to decline the bowl because of financial reasons we would all be saying how terrible it is to take away this opportunity from the young men, now you want to tell them to not compete because of pride. Sorry. That's just not very smart.

If Nebraska is such a disgrace, what do you call a team (MSU) that Nebraska beat 39-38? Never mind, I answered my own question.

So put yourself in their shoes. You have been playing football for your whole life. You have the opportunity to win one more game of the sport you love-- would you really turn it down or just quit and be done playing competitive football forever?

Didn't Minnesotta just fire all their offensive coaches? How is that going to work for a bowl game?

Strikes again.
