4-Star CA Corner Stefan McClure is Visiting
This would be a huge addition to the class. Leon Hall attended his high school.
McClure was on UCLA's campus last weekend, but he switched it from an official to an unofficial visit so he can go to Michigan on Friday.
"He called my high school coach on Thursday, and we set it up," McClure said. "Coach Hoke and I are pretty close. He first came by my school my junior year. Now that he's at Michigan, I'd have a chance to play for a school and in a conference with a lot of tradition.
"This late in the process, it would have been easy to say no, so this is not a courtesy visit."

I wasn't aware if it had been posted if it was officially announced. I did see that there was a lot of buzz about a possible visit though.

looks like hoke had some high targets of his own when he was at San Diego State, but just couldn't reel them in because he wasn't at a big program and was competing in the Pac-10. Now he has a chance to pull some 4/5* and he cant miss this opportunity to save the class

we're not recruiting Lucien anymore because we don't want him as a WR. How would this help?

The hope was that if we filled out more scholarships in CB position, the staff would take another look at him as a WR.

in Flowers. The need for WR is minimal and Lucien's offer list indicate he's well way from elite (despite his 4 star rank at Rivals or whatever). If Flowers ends up elsewhere, maybe Lucien can be a Plan B (presumably after he announces elsewhere.) If not, M can wait for better WR prospects in 2011.

This could be such a huge pick up for Michigan! To start so late in this process and even have him come visit! I am super glad we now have a DC that can let him know how he will look so awesome in the maize and blue!
Note: TOM i have a seperate recruiting question? Have you heard anything about Aundrey Walker? On scout he is also visiting this weekend? Any info.... He is frickin huge 6'5" 355!

The "You may remember me from such <players> as" thing started as a play on the Simpsons schtick that Troy McClure does - "Hi, I'm Troy McClure. You may remember me from such [films, educational videos, voiceovers, etc.] as..." So it's funny that both their last names are McClure.

I would feel much better about losing Dallas Crawford if we can get Stefan on board. Seems to be a very good player and if he's taking a visit on this short of notice there has to be serious interest.

A few of my friends over the past few years always used the exclamation "JA-JIT!" whenever anything awesome happened. No idea why. But this made me think of that.

Sam Webb mentioned McClure during his recruiting roundup today, which focused on defensive backs. Hoke had been recruiting McClure heavily for San Diego State, and evidently McClure developed a positive opinion on Hoke and his staff over the course of his recruitment.
Webb also added a cryptic comment, which he said he would expand on later at gobluewolverine.com, saying that McClure "has a mentor that I think is also working in Michigan's favor." Anyone know who he was referring to here?
