Xavier Worthy and Christian Dixon both are visiting the campus for the first time this weekend for the MSU game. This is particularly important because both committed without ever seeing the campus.

Also add another 4* CB to the list of top prospects visiting for the Wisconsin game on the 14th. 2022 4* CB Issac Thompson will visit alongside 2021 4* CB Ceyair Wright and 2022 5* CB's Domani Jackson and Will Johnson. Xavier Worthy also said he will be coming back for the Wisconsin game. Hopefully they get to see us roll over MSU and Wisconsin. If Wisconsin is down to their back up back up QB, I expect our secondary to show out against Wisconsin and hopefully impress the young recruits.

Ever since the Ty Isaac days, this blog, despite having a lot of smart people, has been awful at spelling the name "Isaac." And somehow people love the double-s which doesn't even make sense from a pronunciation standpoint.

And while I'm nit-picking, no one in California says "Cali" and it sounds lame when other people do. Just sayin'.

With absolutely 0 basis fort his, that Ceyair Wright visit seems huge and possibly a significant sign considering the visit was the biggest hurdle to clear in order to be a serious contender. If he's coming all the way out to Michigan to see a game on his own (obviously others are coming as well) that has to bode well.

Still ready to be disappointed though because... BPONE!

I hope the weather is nice. Either warmish for the time of year, or getting some snow to make the big house look like a snow globe during the game. Hope it's not shitty shoulder season wintery mix.

With them both coming for the MSU game, they will get to see the QB they'll play with next year (Milton), and also the QB they'll most likely play with in 2022 - McNamara.  I mean, I think it's fairly safe to say that MSU will get drubbed quickly enough for McNamara (Mc?) to get some decent PT...

I guess it's possible that JJ McCarthy could get the nod at QB in '22, but I'm saying now that he doesn't.  I think McNamara gets a year because experience...

Here is a hypothetical based on attributes and recruiting ranking. Joe Milton goes pro after the 2021 season. QB battle between 4th year McNamara or 2nd year McCarthy. McNamara has more experience, is the safer choice but projects to be more of a game manager. McCarthy would have little experience but has the higher upside. Would you rather roll with McNamara, who might give you a better chance to win in 2022 or would you rather go with McCarthy who could potentially have 2-3 years of high upside QB play?

Pretty similar scenario to Milton vs McCaffrey actually. This time, upside and talent won out. Personally, i'd rather roll the dice on McCarthy to potentially groom an elite QB who can lead the team for multiple years. Hypothetically of course.

Bad news for MSU. I assume the coaching staff (and team) will be happy to find as many ways as possible to show off how WRs and "speed in space" fit into this offense.

They don't need to run up the score or anything, but they can run the offense fully and let the score reflect whatever it reflects. If Dantonio were still there I'd feel otherwise and want them to purposefully run it up some.

That being said, come out and dominate from the get go, don't try to wow anyone, just pummel them into the ground and get the ball spread around to show off what the offense can do. Then get some back ups some reps but don't constrict the playbook too much. Let everyone in on the fun, the full extent of it all.

Why would Wiscy be down to their backup QB?  We do not play them for what, 19 days?  Their starting QB is going to be out i beleive 10 ish more days.  I beleive he will not only be back for Wiscy, but back the game before we even play them.

The B1G's COVID rules state that a player must be out for 21 days following a confirmed positive test. Michigan-Wisconsin is scheduled for the 20th day following the initial positive test, so Mertz won't be able to play.

My bigger concern is that Michigan-Wisconsin won't happen at all if the virus spreads through the Badger team...

I wonder if cancelled games are determined by the individual teams or if it needs to be agreed upon by both teams and the league. If they still have a QB on roster that can play, are they required to play if they are missing the top 3 players on their depth chart? Minnesota played without a kicker/punter. But QB is the most important position.

The B1G also has a rule that that teams must halt activity for at least seven days if their positivity rate averages more than 5 percent over a rolling seven-day period and their population positivity rate — the number of positive individuals on a team divided by those deemed at risk — exceeds 7.5 percent. That's the rule that could lead to a game being cancelled.

They may be referring to Coan.  Frankly I haven't seen a good update on what his "foot injury" was but many are assuming it was some kind of break.  That makes it iffy that he will be anywhere near close to 100% even if he is back in time for the M game.

Barring some false positive stuff It's probably going to be (Vanden)BOOM time vs. M.

PS - Saw something on my twitter feed today highlighting a push by doctors to monitor Covid athletes more closely for heart and lung damage.  Sounds like the B1G was in front on this issue.

Geez...if we can land 2 of those 3CB's we will be in really great shape the next couple of years!

Isn't winning FUN?!  Let's do it again at least 7 more times:)
