4-1 EMU/5-0 WMU Posbang

Submitted by Bambi on

I'm sure we probably have quite a few EMU fans/alum on the board. EMU squeaked by Bowling Green on the road yesterday to move to 4-1 on the year, the only loss being @Missouri. 4 wins is the most that than EMU has had since 2011 and EMU is now 2-3 wins away from going bowling for the 2nd time ever!

And while we're at it, lets throw WMU in the mix. WMU went to Central last night and destroyed CMU 49-10 to move to 5-0 on the season. Western has already been receiving votes in the polls and will probably move into the top 25 farily soon. They have a great shot of going undefeated and being the G5 team to make the most noise this year outside of Houston. PJ Fleck has built and incredibly strong program down in Kalamazoo and will be a hot name in the coaching carousel this offseason.

And to cap it off, lets celebrate the fact that MSU has the worst record of any of the D1 Michigan schools and is the only one without a winning record! It's great to be anyone but a Spartan, and of course a Wolverine!

I think it's interesting when people talk about how they are a "Proud ___ alum" when their football (or other sports) team does well.  I hope no one's pride in their school literally fluctuates based on that.

As a Michigan fan I'm definitely happier when the sports teams are doing better but my pride in the school itself doesn't change.

CMU is my school and it sucks losing to them. That said, it was clear after season 1 the Fleck is the real deal and will be a hot name after this season to move up. The question I have is, are there any B1G teams smart enough to move on him?

There are only a few B1G teams who could reasonably change coaches this year... Illinois would have been a solid landing place if they hadn't stupidly gone all in on Lovie. As it is, Purdue and maaaaaaybe Minnesota are the only ones likely to be looking for a new coach come November.
