2024 Football Schedule Released
Here it is: https://mgoblue.com/sports/football/schedule/2024
No changes to the non-conference schedule. Michigan opens Big Ten play at home against USC, because of course they do. The trip to Washington is October 5.
Senior Day will be against Northwestern, the week before OSU.

DAMMIT, I want USC's first experience in The Big House to be in NO-VEM-BER.
Fuckin' Big Ten...
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:17 PM ^
I agree with you 100%, but the upside is getting a QB with a lot less experience that early in the season.
OTOH, I would say USC’s defense will be at full strength, though. That’s probably too early for any of them to have tackled someone meaning no risk of wear-and-tear yet.
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:55 PM ^
USC will proabably get a very strong portal QB. Hopefully Harbaugh can do the same.
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:40 PM ^
Just imagining USC at the big house at all is kind of mind blowing considering 9 out of 10 of the all time meetings took place in Southern California. We had a home & home with them in 1957 and 58, with them coming here in 58.
This feels like the same weird feeling I had when Nebraska joined the big ten and I was trying to contemplate the thought of the Huskers in the big house.
November 2nd, 2023 at 9:27 PM ^
We've only played in the LA Coliseum twice, and one of those was vs UCLA!
Looking forward to 2025 at USC....
November 2nd, 2023 at 11:41 PM ^
Yes but all the Rose Bowl games were played a whopping 12 miles from USC's campus.
It would be like Michigan playing USC at Eastern Michigan's stadium. You can call it a neutral site game all you want but only one team is traveling long distance to play a team that essentially has a home game.
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:13 PM ^
How do we think whoever the USC QB ends up being will do his nails?
READER FRIENDLY EDIT: "How do we think the USC QB will do his nails?"
(This is a reference to Caleb Williams painting "Fuck Utah" on his fingernails before their rematch last year and proceeding to lose, a huge loser move. He remains winless against them this year an even bigger loser move.)
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:55 PM ^
I had to re-read this a few times lol
November 2nd, 2023 at 8:08 PM ^
I'm still not quite sure what it means and I've been reading it for 30 minutes.
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:14 PM ^
MICHIGAN GETS TO PLAY FOOTBALL IN 2024 POSBANG!
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:17 PM ^
Yeah. B1G is supposed to mess with probably some highly watched games next season because of some whining coaches. I ain't seeing that happening. We will see.
November 2nd, 2023 at 8:16 PM ^
True, but this won't be the schedule since we will be independent... Let's go with:
Fresno
Texas
Arkansas State
Oregon State (home and home)
Washington State (home and home)
UMass
UConn
Notre Dame
Need two more. Who should we try to buy?
November 2nd, 2023 at 8:26 PM ^
Service academies? Temple?
November 2nd, 2023 at 9:29 PM ^
No service academies. Triple option prep on a weeks notice? No thanks
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:14 PM ^
Texas, USC,.Washington, Oregon and OSU -- That is going to be a tough schedule.
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:16 PM ^
Depends on the level of QB play they all have.
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:16 PM ^
All will have new qbs and USC doesn’t play defense. Pac12 teams heads will explode when they see Michigan roll out three tight ends and a fullback.
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:21 PM ^
We'll probably have a new QB too.
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:56 PM ^
I keep seeing this, we will have a new QB and almost an entire new defense.
November 2nd, 2023 at 8:35 PM ^
Our defense won't be incredibly new given the fact we've been able to give so much playing time to the backups this season, and we have a number of good to incredible Sophomores at all three levels of the defense including the following:
- Mason Graham
- Kenneth Grant
- Will Johnson
- Derrick Moore
- Ernest Hausmann
- Keon Sabb
Make no mistake our depth and overall talent is going to take a hit, but those pieces are currently among the most talented defensive players on the rosters now, and the makings of a good to potentially great defense, though maybe not elite like this year.
November 2nd, 2023 at 8:29 PM ^
Can't really look past the home opener, either: Fresno St .
The Bulldogs have been a 10-win team in 4 of the last 5 complete seasons and are 7-1 this fall.
November 3rd, 2023 at 12:00 AM ^
They just beat our "best win" UNLV.
November 2nd, 2023 at 9:30 PM ^
Meanwhile, “OSU v everyone” plays Oregon and that’s it…
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:15 PM ^
Ok everyone, you all have your assignments. We'll all attend our opposing teams' games in the next year and send the footage to the Google Drive entitled "Secret In-Person Recording Footage on Michigan's Opponents". You can pick up your iPhones and sunglasses at Michigan Stadium at the door labeled "Secret Sign Stealer Door".
Now let's get out there and show them just how vast this network is!
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:20 PM ^
We also need CS doppelganger on USC sideline.
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:55 PM ^
already got my disguise.
November 2nd, 2023 at 8:33 PM ^
Ready to hear what they are saying
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:16 PM ^
To no surprise the Big Ten continues to show how incompetent they are. If they cared about saving tradition, they should have moved "The Game" to the middle of the season. Now in all likelihood Michigan and Ohio State will play 2 weeks in a row. "The Game" is now meaningless.
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:40 PM ^
First off. No.
Second, I think adding 4 quality teams and the nature of having 18 teams and only 9 games amongst them is going to make it unlikely there are repeats going forward.
Plus the playoffs are expanding so even a loss in one of the games would be unlikely to keep either team out should it happen.
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:50 PM ^
I get that Oregon, Washington, USC, and UCLA are no scrubs. But I don't see any of these teams pushing Michigan or Ohio State for the big ten crown. Imagine having an 11-0 vs 11-0 "The Game" and then a rematch the very next week.
November 2nd, 2023 at 8:08 PM ^
This is OSU’s last great team for the near future. They will have a marginal qb, and be without Marvin Harrison Jr.
November 2nd, 2023 at 8:03 PM ^
If they cared about saving tradition, they should have moved "The Game" to the middle of the season.
Wild sentence
November 2nd, 2023 at 8:17 PM ^
You're missing the point though. "The Game" should be meaningful and shouldn't be played two weeks in a row. Ryan Day said something similar to this before the season and I hate to agree with Ryan Day.
November 2nd, 2023 at 8:24 PM ^
How about we see if it actually happens before getting our titties in a twist
November 2nd, 2023 at 10:50 PM ^
Yeah. This might be the first year Texas and OU have played each other in the Big 12 Title game. OSU or UM are guaranteed one loss each year and who knows what they'll do for tiebreakers if there's a couple teams tied at 8-1 and they didn't play each other.
November 2nd, 2023 at 9:19 PM ^
When you find yourself agreeing with Ryan Day, stop and rethink your opinion.
We went through this nonsense with Legends and Leaders divisions, as you may recall. The Gate should be the end of the regular season. If there is a rematch, well, that sucks, but it'd suck whether it's a rematch of a midseason game or of the previous week.
November 2nd, 2023 at 8:35 PM ^
My hope is that ohio state starts having RR/Hoke years.
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:29 PM ^
I wish I had season tickets. So much better than the years when sparty and ohio were both away in the same season. Staee is the 5th most interesting home game. Possibly lower, unless urbz suddenly gets healthy.
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:31 PM ^
As much as I've hated divisions, maybe we should have kept them and just added the new teams to the West.
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:47 PM ^
Sure. And they could have just realigned and chose 2 of 3 to move from IL, NW, and Purdue to the East, for example. Seems fair and balanced.
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:35 PM ^
8 home games! Nice.
Are we allowed to try and figure out what the opponent is doing while we are playing on our field?
November 2nd, 2023 at 8:12 PM ^
Just play the entire game on Jumbotron (or whatever they’re currently referred to as), fix the wifi to allow crowd to select “pass” “run” “right” or “left” multiple choice style and display results, and let the NCAA sort out “use of electronic means”
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:36 PM ^
Great. We get a rematch against OSU one week later in the championship game, woopty do(i know i know, we get to kick their ass twice, i prefer the one)
November 2nd, 2023 at 8:38 PM ^
If fans on this site stop rooting for them to win (ND and PSU this year) maybe they will start to suck. Don't you know, Michigan controls everything.
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:36 PM ^
Good lord, that is a very rough schedule. If JJ ends up leaving early to the NFL it’s going to be a struggle.
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:42 PM ^
*looks at schedule*
*scribbles 'Convince JJ To Remain' in margin*
November 2nd, 2023 at 8:08 PM ^
Right next to “cover-up vast network conspiracy”
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:44 PM ^
Holy fuck, go look at MSU’s schedule and tell what the TV executives think of them!! Lol
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:44 PM ^
If JJ leaves I hope we can go get Cam Rising.
