RG-

1. Onwenu

2. Spanellis

RT-

1. Mayfield

2. Hayes

Offense notes- Michigan is loaded with speed, talent and depth everywhere. All 6 WRs can play all 3 spots, but you will probably rarely see Collins in the slot or Sainristil outside. I really like the RB depth and I think Charbonnet will be a 1b to Tru by the BT season. IMO this is the best O line since 2000, the best QB room since 1999 and the best WRs since 2004. Time to win a BT championship.

Defense-

Rush end-

1. Paye 30%

CB1-

1. Hill

2. Thomas ( October)

CB2-

1. Gray

2. JKP

FS-

1. Metellus

2. D. Hill

SS-

1. Hawkins

2. Woods

Nickel-

1. JKP

2. Hawkins

Defensive notes- So much depth everywhere except DT, after Kemp and Jeter there are a lot of question marks with Dwumfour's injury, Mason's weight and how well a 5* Fr can be. There is no star there either, but with Don Brown and a ton of options I feel good about this defense. I think this can be a top 10-15 defense nationally and definitely good enough to win a BT championship. A key will be getting Thomas back by October and getting D. Hill ready to play by then as well for more speed and depth in the secondary by Iowa, psu and ND

PR-

1. DPJ / Bell

KR-

1- Bell

2- Turner / Sainristil

Overall-

11-1 BT Champs

12-1, lose in the final 4

12-2 Go BLUE!

I like this, starting to feel like the Harbaugh machine is fully operational with great depth most everywhere

This is the year to do it.  At some point, teams/programs need to make the transition jump to a higher level - without having every piece in place. The core is present.  The backup foundation is solid.  The time isn’t going to be any better. Make it happen Michigan.

As for vibes from Columbus, you're as close to Columbus as I am; I'm also in Toledo.

There's obviously a lot of optimism about the Buckeyes, but it's a bit guarded. (Not "CFP or BUST" talk.)

The offense has plenty of weapons among the skill positions; they're loaded. No problems there, good enough for an elite offense.

The O-line is a bit inexperienced, but has plenty of upside potential, so we'll have to see how they gel. (I'm sure they'll be fine by Nov. 30.) ;-)  Honestly, there's more upside potential with this O-line unit than any O-line in Urb's tenure. O-line cohesion (or lack of it) will ultimately define how good they can be. (And next year they should be even better!)

That makes Fields the big wildcard as to how the offense will perform. There's been talk this month that Fields hasn't been particularly sharp. He hasn't yet been named the starter (that announcement will come Monday). Some say that it's just a formality and Day is wanting to promote competition, but others have said that Gunnar Hoak has looked okay and Fields has not yet hit his stride, so the door's been left open. (Though announcing anyone other than Fields would be a surprise.)

We all know that in college football the QB is the most influential role of an offense, and when that's a question mark, there's some hesitation that the offense will click. I think that's why things are a bit guarded thus far.

Nice to see there are some reasonable fans; I expect Day's a good hire but there is always some transition cost, plus that losing 80% of your offense ;)

I think you may be right, no matter what roads each team travels before that game, everyone will be ready to make it legendary.

Here's to at least someone from the B1G making a CFP appearance.

Safety is tough for freshmen to pick up. Nickel, not so much and they don't get that many snaps. I expect Dax to start there off the bat.

The question for me is how long it takes him to grab a bigger role, either pushing Hawkins to nickel or causing Brown to go with a nickel more often. Gattis and the offense taking early leads could contribute to that too.
