Thankfully the formatting didn't suck with no way to edit lol
Anyone else notice that none of the usual suspects in regards to recruiting have chosen to post in recent days.
You have to love how people that are supposedly "true fans" just wanting the best for the team go quiet during good periods. The true part of the fan base is supportive and loyal, even if sometimes critical, through thick and thin!
You're missing Kyle Ford as a top target. He's lighting up the opening as likely the best WR their. Additionally, he's recently spoken quite glowingly of Harbaugh and intends to take an official to UM. He enjoyed his first visit and his time with Harbaugh.
*there - dodo bird.
Ha! I guess Brian didn’t share the edit function with yuo
EDIT: with you.
Can we haz a class of 32?
Hopefully, we don't blow up the world before then...
Jake Moody is now on campus and officially in the 2018 class.
I thought he was a grey shirt to be added to 2019? or did that change?
He's under scholarship now since Michigan is under 85. umbig11 reported that on this website a couple days ago.
I read that he was given a scholarship because there were only 84, so there was one available. That is what is generally promised to grey shirts.
Pretty sure someone posted in another thread that he was added to the scholarship count now. The grey shirt is no more.
Funny how the board has had a positive vibe lately...booze...or no maizen/Bluey?
Go Blue!
Moody is now a Blueshirt and will join the team in August. He is on full scholarship.
In addition, two other kickers will join the team as PWO's.
Any punter walk-ons or greyshirts? We still need a big leg. Thanks!
We are adding two PWO's. Ithaca Jicker Adam Culp and Punter/Kicker George Caratan from Oakdale (Conn) St. Thomas.
The good ole Jicker or kicker....take your pick.
Sooo....I’m going to throw this out there due to the chatter about a surprise 3rd transfer that never was really came to light and with the addition of all these kickers including moody to a scholly...aaaaand that little sideline bark at JH during the season but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Quinn Nordin is leaving.
I would strongly advise against reading anything into taking walkons.
Moody was always going to get a scholarship. It was just a question of whether he would be in the 2018 or 2019 class.
you wouldnt be surprised? based on what?
Nordin will not transfer. Moody will likely Redshirt if he doesn't win the KO job putting a little space between them.
Thanks, umbig11...our jickers need the competition to sharpen their jicking skills. Seriously, good to hear about the PWOs.
Harbaugh left it to the 2 (now 3?) individuals who have left the program to announce their departures. I don't remember seeing anything from the individuals who were believed to have departed. Have any of them said where they are going? I wish them well as long as they don't go to OSU or MSU.
Trevon Raphael is an interesting prospect. Only started playing football last year. Bill Greene put in a CB for Michigan. Transferred so he is taking summer classes and is on the path to be academically eligible for next season.
The staff is going to monitor his progress academically before "going all in."
I’m for this. WR seems to be the only major gap left in this year’s class given the lack of major signings last year.
Ken, I'll take your interesting and raise you an intriguing; he seems fast, or does he play in a lower class?
Moody is already in the 2018 class and is under scholarship. Agreed on Keegan, DiCosmo, and Sainristil. I think we get one of Ford or C. Johnson. Either Cine or Josh Sanguinetti. Quavaris Crouch. And Giles Jackson. That would put our class at 26 which is optimistic as it is.
This is a good summary with the exception of Kyle Ford, which was noted in a comment above. I suppose there will be a decommit or three along with a few new names that are not currently being discussed popping up during the fall.
The flip side to this increased class size is that we need to prepare for a bunch of early leavers for the NFL Draft: Rashan, Shea, Devin Bush, Khaleke (welp) and one or both of Vert and David Long. Of course, if we really lose most or all of those guys, it will mean that we will have had one hell of a year and, at the least, made a run at the B1G / playoffs.
I'd include Wandale Robinson along with Giles Jackson. It sounds like we would take either one, but not both.
Also, isn't Cine being recruited as a Viper?
I thought he was being recruited as a pure safety.
Relevant quote from an article about his visit; “(Viper is) the spot for me,” he said, “because I’m physical and I can do it all.”
I'm confused at what a viper is now.
There are articles saying that Joey Velazquez is recruited to play Viper.
The only projected Viper on the 2019 roster as of today is Jordan Glasgow. Of course, good chance that one of the current / 2018 safeties move into that role but otherwise, we need a couple in the 2019 class.
Nobody has mentioned this to my knowledge, but wouldn't Crouch fit the bill for the Viper role????
I predict more use of the SAM in 2019. I have a feeling Josh Uche is going to force his way onto the field.
GREAT CLASS.
More to come.
I think they went heavy on corners last year because Lavert and Long are both probably gone this year
Take as many good players as you can. Figure out the numbers later.
-Alabama
- everyone
What about the part where Alabama says, "Also, grayshirts are your friend. Never be afraid to make spot changes to a kid's future in the last week of August."?
Keegan/Harrison/Cine would be the cherries on top! Go Blue!!
+ Ford please
damn good class so far, gents. Damn good class.
As to all the prior worry warts about star ratings...LOL. Where you at now? Not to mention, some of these kids are bound to get a star rating bump.
according to lorenz Crouch is in the more likely category
The numbers to get the class size it looks like the coaches plan on taking is interesting. Would love to get Ford, Keegan and Cine in this class.
The numbers will need to managed too. We are about 8-10 over the limit as we stand for 2019.
Obviously there are few early entry draft candidates but it seems the staff is planning on a serious level of playing time transfers.
11 are out of eligibility
Higdon
Jar Wangler
Perry
JBB
Winovich
Mone
Marshall
Furbush
Watson
Kinnel
Hughes
Newsome could retire - that makes 12
early draft
Shea
Gary
Long
Bush
L. Hill
Hudson
that makes 18
not asked back
Ulizio
R. Jones
there's 20 without too much of a reach
Good post.
