#1 Kicker (2016) Quinn Nordin Trending Blue!

Submitted by MLaw06 on

Quinn Nordin, the #1 Kicker, has offers from most of the top D1 schools that are in the market for a kicker this year.  While a number of recruiting sites have hinted that he was trending blue, Quinn is giving off strong signals now because he changed his Twitter background to a picture of the big house (he just changed it this weekend; previously, he had a picture of the Penn State stadium).  In addition, he has been interviewed recently speaking very highly of our (Special Teams) Coach Baxter and it looks like it's (*fingers crossed*) only a matter of time before we have our kicker!

lol I wish! Fab 50 refers to Kornblue Kicking, a "network" that ranks kickers, punters, and snappers throughout the nation. You are required to have attended a camp, or be seen in a live game to be ranked, but of the top 50 kickers ranked, Nordin is #1, given 5 stars. FWIW, Andrew David (our 2015 kicker) is also ranked on the same list at #11, given 4.5 stars.

As someone said, in terms of crystal ball it has been 100% Michigan since the start.

Lorenz said that it is all up to Harbaugh if he wants to spend a scholarship on a kicker two years in a row.

Ace just went ballz for Devin Bush Jr. to Mich.  He's the second prognosticator to pick M for him recently.   He also went ballz for top TE target Naseir Upshur earlier this weekend, and some guy from Temple's website did the same this morning.

JC Shurburtt went ballz on Ron Johnson, 4* DE out of NJ, this weekend.  Ace has been ballz on him since April.

Having an elite kicker is a huge weapon, and the best ones start from day one and stay all four years. Given the limit at 32 NFL slots exactly, they also are more likely to value their education. I'd love us to have Quinn as part of this class.

I am glad to hear this but considering we just had a K in the 2015 class it seems strange to me.  Usually the kickers would want to commit to a school where they are staggered by 2-3 years from another one.
