Game Day Weather

Another night game! While it won't be the prettiest day/evening in Minnesota, the weather will be a tad better than here. A trough in the Great Lakes region is bringing clouds, breezy conditions, and showers to the area Friday, and while that moves in to Michigan Saturday, it mostly moves out of our game day location. It'll be a cold start to the morning and like here, temps for the afternoon will be running on the cool side. It's feeling a lot more like Fall football for the 105th MI/MN match up! Let's gooooo!

If you're traveling to Minneapolis...

Tailgating

If you're staying in the city you'll be starting Saturday near 40 degrees. If you're staying in the suburbs outside of it, you've got a better shot at waking up to middle and upper 30s! There is the possibility of some frost on the ground! And don't forget the breeze - a NW wind around 10mph (enough to keep the leaves rustling) will be enough to make it feel like the low to mid 30s. Maybe there's a little something special added to your little brown jug if you're up early for this one ;) At least we'll have some sun! Sun and clouds to start the day with mid 40s toward lunchtime. We'll see more clouds into the afternoon with highs in the low 50s, staying there into the early evening.

Kickoff

Kickoff is at 6:30pm Central! Near 50 for the start under mostly cloudy skies. Winds will still be close to 10mph out of the WNW. Get ready to cheer loudly for our guys! Remember the last time we played Minnesota? It was during covid in a basically empty stadium. Let's make up for it Saturday! Cheer your heart out! It may help keep you warm as temperatures fall into the upper 40s during the first half. Our sunset will be at 6:44pm so expect that night game feeling to fire you up quickly!

Halftime

Great time to grab a snack and a drink, and get moving to take the chill out of your bones! Is this the game where you get your first hot chocolate?! Staying mostly cloudy to overcast for the second half of the game. Winds will fall to around 5mph, out of the WNW, which is just enough to feel a breeze on bare skin. No doubt you'll have some extra layers on though with temps in the upper 40s.

Post-Game

Mid 40s by the time you're heading out of Huntington Bank Stadium with that dub! It might be chilly, but the atmosphere is so special playing these night games you won't even notice! :D The good news is that if you want to go out to celebrate getting the jug, we really don't see that much more of a drop in temperature into the late night! We settle into the mid 40s with our clouds acting like a blanket. And we'll have just a light wind shifting to the SW and S. Clouds break up a bit for Sunday, giving Minneapolis partly sunny conditions with afternoon highs in the low 50s.

If you're staying in Ann Arbor...

A chilly day is on tap for A2 as well, but we'll add in more wind and rain chances here. We'll start the morning in the low 40s and make it to the low 50s in the afternoon, just like in Minnesota. They should also be seeing mid 60s, just like us. Winds will be out of the WNW at 15-20mph, gusting to the mid 20s, throughout the day. You'll see some smaller trees swaying, possibly some larger branches moving from time to time. Expect some sun through the clouds with the chance of scattered showers throughout the day. Skies will turn more partly cloudy into the evening. We've fallen to the upper 40s by game time and mid 40s by the end with winds still near 15mph and gusts near 20. Winds will stay in that range through last call, taking the temps near 40 by then and making it feel more like the low 30s. Go blue!

CHRISTINA BURKHART IS THE MORNING METEOROLOGIST FOR ABC IN FLINT, MI. SHE GREW UP IN ANN ARBOR AND ASSOCIATES SATURDAYS WITH MICHIGAN FOOTBALL. GO BLUE!!
