WTKA Roundtable 12/20/2018: De'veon But Fast
Things discussed:
- Dax made it a good narrative, imagine if Hinton and Charbonnet committed
- Cornelius Johnson is an important get—need a Darboh in this class.
- Quintel Kent: found last summer and had a great senior year.
- Three slot guys? Giles Jackson=Rondale Moore? Yo-yo'ing TEs and slots
- Quenton Johnson is signing with his teammates. Getting back that speed they lost when Delano Hill and Dymonte Thomas left, and these guys are faster
- Zach Charbonnet gets tackled well. Brian(!) issues a Fred Jacksonism
- Warinner on the recruiting trail. Recalling the 2013 OL class—let's not have this one fall apart like that. Sam's favorite: Karsen Barnhart, who's going to be better than Devonte Dobbs (not Logan Brown). Building your own lineman from a quasi-TE is better than trying to subtract from an already 340-pound kid.
- Talking DL: Aubrey's potential. Sam sees Aidan Hutchinson, Kwity and Uche as a very good DE rotation, Vilain is further ahead with this injury than he was with the last so he's back in the conversation.
- NT? Jeter is the new Mone, Mazi is the new Aubrey, Dwumfour's got a shot but he's got to learn to be a run defender. Kemp has to gain weight to be a full-time 3-tech. Don Brown's defense needs a DT who can create pressure
- Freshman factors: Dax Hill, Mazi and Hinton.
- Two-deepers getting redshirts, would like to see some freshmen.
- Hoops: Early unsustainable two-point defense. Flowers was throwing up some garbage.

There’s a pretty wide array of opinions on Dobbs with many thinking he was just bigger than his high school counterparts but doesn’t have the athleticism and feet to continue excelling in college. We shall see.

Barnhart is trending upward from many sources. Dobbs is questionable from a variety of angles. They are very different OL players. We will see.

Dobbs = Malik McDowell 2.0

Nailed it. I feel like we've dodged two potential blemishes with Dobbs gone

Much more pleasant without Ed
