You will probably have to create your own copy but then you can type in any two teams and make a comparison. Thank you to Kenpom for the data and helpful Google Sheets script writers for helping me calculate distances. Drive times are calculated as 1.3 minutes per mile.

To get a copy:

Follow this link and play around with it on google sheets.

OR

  1. Follow this link to the spreadsheet.
  2. Go to "File" and "download as". Choose a format and the rest is up to you.

To use it just put the two teams you're trying to compare and the round (it will return wonky stuff if those two teams aren't able to meet there). It'll show you things like Off and Def rank on Kenpom and a win confidence based on a factor of the average 1 seed will be 100% to beat an average 16 seed. It'll also bring up the site of the game and, new this year, the distance for each team in driving hours. Last it'll show any injuries I knew about when I made it last night.

Enjoy.

Just a question for everyone that used this model last year. How well did you do in your brackets? I'm planning on using this in at least one of my paid brackets this year but not entirely sure on if I will yet.

Just ran the bracket spreadsheet for the tourney. Kansas over Virginia. Fingers crossed... But I don't see MSU losing to Virginia

This is how I figured out distances:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qkU9zIPyy1bXErfTMGkF8MFgQ_RkMP2…

That Google Sheet has a script to query Google Maps for a driving distance (or an as-the-crow-fles distance that I used for Hawaii). To avoid repeatedly making those queries I have the formula active in only the top line right now.

Then I took the mileage and multiplied by 1.3, accounting for stops and city driving. It seems that was too much. I'll recalibrate at an average trip speed of 55 mph (right now it's 45).

Why People are Getting Crazy Errors

I only have three possible distances that can show for any given team, for the three possible sites they can play at. If you pull up an impossible matchup (say, Michigan vs Arizona in the 2nd round) it will return the distance to THE ACTUAL SITE of that round.

I am making $89/hour working from home. I never thought that it was legitimate but my best friend is earning $10 thousand a month by working online, that was really surprising for me, she recommended me to try it. You will lose nothing, just try it out on the following website. ►►► www.NetNote70.com

Start working at home with Google! It's by-far the best job I've had. Last Wednesday I got a brand new BMW since getting a check for $6474 this - 4 weeks past. I began this 8-months ago and immediately was bringing home at least $77 per hour. I work through this link, go to tech tab for work detail.
