Breathing Is On Again Frozen Four Muppets!
Researchers at the University of Michigan, working in terrible puck luck conditions in Allentown, Pennsylvania, have discovered you use your diaphragm to create a vacuum to pump air, which is about twenty percent oxygen, into your lungs. This information will come as news to everyone who just lived through 3.04333333 periods of excruciating playoff hockey as 0-0 became 0-1 became 1-1 became Mackie You Glorious Bastard Samoskevitch at 19:02 of 1OT. 1-seed Michigan beats host Penn State, and the breathing shall continue to the Frozen Four.
And you can't have one without the other.
On to Tampa Bay for MORE Playoff Hockey!!!!
P.S. Luke Hughes you marvelous creature

I kinda feel bad for the Penn State fans but this is a bitter pill they needed to experience and we were due for an OT winner for the number of times I've seen this team's tournament end in OT
- 2022 - (L) Denver 2-3 OT
- 2018 - (L) Notre Dame 3-4 (functionally an OT loss)
- 2016 - (W!) Notre Dame 3-2
- 2012 - (L) Cornell 2-3
- 2011 - (L) Duluth 2-3 OT
- 2011 - (W!) Omaha 3-2
- 2010 - (L) Miami 2-3 2OT
- 2008 - (L) Notre Dame 4-5
- 2004 - (L) BC 2-3
- 2003 - (L) Minnesota 2-3
So in this century that's 2-8 and the only 2 W's were in the opening round. Meanwhile a lot of those L's were massive kicks in the balls. Pretty much entirely regional finals and beyond. Honestly that's the first significant OT tournament winner I have ever seen Michigan win and it's been 15+ years for me watching. Feels good

The Adam Fantilli interview they played just before the start of the OT sent chills down my spine. That Freshman (!?!) and his no-nonsense confidence was inspiring. "When we play our game, No one in the country can beat us". Look out, Quinnipiac, we got you on our mind. How that kid is so collected at 18 is a testament to how playing sports at the highest level can forge character.

Hope that save gets caught in the stats! He was too high on the PSU goal, so good on him for keeping that one out.

The nature of the game guaranteed it will be remembered for a long time, which makes the win that much sweeter!

I was watching it on my phone while awaiting my delayed flight at ORD. Ill admit I was shitting bricks and thought I'd miss the OT and we'd lose while flying home.

Michigan won their two games this weekend by a combined score of 13-2, but maybe not with those goals optimally distributed.

I never like winning that easily in a tournament. It does not prepare you to take a punch in the mouth when it comes. And it came hard today.
Well, the tough Penn State win resets all of that. We will be ready for the slog that is QPac.

That game-winning goal was beyond beautiful. Top-notch, NHL playoff quality. This team is so talented, and scary good on the forecheck and offense. Of course, they are vulnerable to their own misplays. But this team plays beautiful hockey.
