January 12th, 2011 at 7:27 PM ^

January 12th, 2011 at 7:43 PM ^
I think it's tremendous.
January 12th, 2011 at 9:11 PM ^
Good to see that my favorite poster has returned.
January 12th, 2011 at 9:54 PM ^
No question, Jim. er. Jarred.
January 12th, 2011 at 7:31 PM ^
Some people have said that he's a good recruiter.....maybe "touching" is his trick.
January 12th, 2011 at 7:36 PM ^
Ask Tom Brady and see what he says.
January 12th, 2011 at 8:07 PM ^
Wait, what were we talking about again? Nevermind.
January 12th, 2011 at 9:36 PM ^
It's okay. I'll pretend that you said, "Tom Brady's Wife."
January 12th, 2011 at 7:45 PM ^
Ah yes. The ol' Hokey-Pokey.
January 12th, 2011 at 7:49 PM ^
don't forget the thousands of players they've been able to touch...as a family haha, i can't wait for football season, so excited
January 12th, 2011 at 8:04 PM ^
This past and potential "touching" has been mentioned a lot today. I hope he stops saying. I could not help but laugh during the press conference.
On a serious note though, I am glad we did get another coach that seems like they will care about their players as people on and off the field.
January 12th, 2011 at 10:21 PM ^
Come on man, give him a break. Everybody touches people...touches you, touches me...
January 12th, 2011 at 7:28 PM ^
oops double post
January 12th, 2011 at 7:26 PM ^
I am very confident that Hoke will adjust to use Denard to the best of his abilities on the field.

Brady Hoke knows it is in the best interest of the team to make it work.
January 12th, 2011 at 7:27 PM ^
I really hope that is a type and not the reason Denard is staying.
January 12th, 2011 at 7:29 PM ^
He sounds like Chris Farley's motivational speaker character. I love it.
January 12th, 2011 at 7:31 PM ^
Glen Foley? In a van down by the river?
January 12th, 2011 at 7:32 PM ^

Matt Foley: [ runs up the stairs, bouncing back and forth as he talks ] Alright, how's everybody? Good! Good! Good! Now, as your father probably told you, my name is Matt Foley, and I am a Motivational Speaker! Now, let's get started by me giving you a little bit of a scenario of what my life is all about! First off, I am 35 years old.. I am divorced.. and I live in a van down by the river! Now, you kids are probably saying to yourself, "Now, I'm gonna go out, and I'm gonna get the world by the tail, and wrap it around and put it in my pocket!!" Well, I'm here to tell you that you're probably gonna find out, as you go out there, that you're not gonna amount to Jack Squat!!" You're gonna end up eating a steady diet of government cheese, and living in a van down by the river! Now, young man, what do you want to do with your life?
January 12th, 2011 at 7:34 PM ^
after they meet again tomorrow that we hear a definitive statement from Denard that he's staying. This has to happen.
January 12th, 2011 at 9:06 PM ^
The last two day meeting on campus didn't end so well for one of the participants.
January 12th, 2011 at 7:41 PM ^
January 12th, 2011 at 7:54 PM ^
Even the various all-B1G teams didn't classify Denard as a QB, in spite of naming him as the player of the year. He might have gotten mention as a "back."
January 12th, 2011 at 8:50 PM ^
January 12th, 2011 at 8:49 PM ^
Fortunately, the two will meet up tomorrow, so Hoke can clarify anything he said today.
January 12th, 2011 at 7:43 PM ^
Denard at the game! w000000000000t!
January 12th, 2011 at 7:43 PM ^
Yes, he was smiling and singing the Victors!
January 12th, 2011 at 7:44 PM ^
sure looks like he wants to stay! he was up and cheering hail to the victors at the game!!
January 12th, 2011 at 7:47 PM ^
Gus Johnson is my all time fav announcer and he said he was a big fan of Michigan football. I did not know that. Awesome. Anyways, hopefully Denard, who is climbing up the charts rather quickly as my all time favorite wolverine, stays put. Hoke and company know how big of an asset Denard is and they will utilizie him as necessary, which is at qb. Borges has been around a long time, he will know what to do.
January 12th, 2011 at 7:52 PM ^
is from Detroit, fyi
January 12th, 2011 at 7:52 PM ^
I wonder if Tate is at the game?
January 12th, 2011 at 8:12 PM ^
I'm not sure...but more importantly, there was a Lloyd Brady sighting while the fans were waving goodbye to Sullinger!
January 12th, 2011 at 7:53 PM ^
Ohio fuckin' State.
January 12th, 2011 at 8:17 PM ^
That school in Ohio
January 12th, 2011 at 9:01 PM ^
i think that was in alluding to when tressel was hired saying, "that school up north"
January 12th, 2011 at 7:55 PM ^
I'd love to hear how he talked about it and what he said at halftime in general. Was he introduced to the crowd? How did that go?
January 12th, 2011 at 9:03 PM ^
January 12th, 2011 at 7:57 PM ^
He will stay.
January 12th, 2011 at 8:10 PM ^
I think people feeling uncomfortable about Coach Hoke's comments about touching players says more about the people who feel uncomfotable than it does about Coach Hoke.
January 12th, 2011 at 9:59 PM ^
You read my mind.
January 12th, 2011 at 8:21 PM ^
Hoke is very charismatic, and seems to genuinely care about his players. This should help him a lot with Denard. After about a year or two of school, players develop fully-functioning BS detectors and know whether the coaches care about them or not. I'm pretty sure Hoke more than passes the BS test. I would imagine that it is now a matter of him convincing Denard that he will get to run an offense that uses his strengths.
Hopefully, this happens tomorrow, and Hoke is true to his word in spring practice.
January 12th, 2011 at 9:12 PM ^
I agree...as I watched the presser, at first I was questioning Hoke. He seemed somewhat overwhelmed by the situation. But as the presser went on, you could sense the fire and the passion that he brings to Michigan. By the time he was through, it was easy to understand how he might be able to seriously relate to his players. If you had any doubt about the importance of The Rivalry, it wasn't lost on Hoke.
I have to say, I was impressed.

this was mentioned on espn a few times, but the resemblance to Bobby Bacala is uncanny
