Go Midshipmen!
October 23rd, 2010 at 11:32 AM ^
As much as I want to get a better feel for Penn State for next week, I don't know if I can stand to watch them play Minnesota. Zzzz.
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:00 PM ^
State's secondary is going to get torched. The question is will Northwestern beat themselves with the turnovers.
From what I saw in Michigan's game, MSU is pretty sound about being in position to make plays. Teams that aren't playing sharp can hurt themselves.
The other question is State's ability to win a shootout. They showed they can score against good teams already so they should be fine. Big Ten road games are tricky.

Its a little more relaxing, but also a bunch less enthralling right now without MICH on the docket.
Rolling with the Big 10 dogs again this week. Hope it goes a bit better this week.
Northwestern: 2 HUGE third and short stops in the run game to get Sparty off the field
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:13 PM ^
3rd down rush D looking stout early.
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:16 PM ^
If this somehow becomes a fumble recovery for State, then its officially their year
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:19 PM ^
Nice 3ed and 18.
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:23 PM ^
First and Goal. Awesome
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:23 PM ^
This NW stadium announcer is eating his microphone.
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:23 PM ^
Wildcat ROAR!
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:23 PM ^
Watching this Sparty-NW game, it is harder and harder to ignore the fact that Sparty must spend an innordinate amount of time preparing for the Wiscy and (especcially) UM game compared to others. They have looked profoundly meh the past two weeks.
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:31 PM ^
So far, it unfortunately seems to be working out for them.
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:24 PM ^
TD NW. Persa is a lot shiftier than people give him credit for.
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:24 PM ^
I am very happy we are not seeing NW this year..never thought I would say that but this NW offense is very good. Would give us a lot of problems this year.
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:24 PM ^
RAWRCATZRAWR!
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:25 PM ^
Maybe I wasn't completely crazy for picking NW over MSU in Pigskin Picks. Long way to go though.
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:26 PM ^
TD NAVY!
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:28 PM ^
After we lost to them, I asked my one Spartan buddy at my tailgate if they played Northwestern. He said yes, and I just said... "I'm sorry man, but you're gonna lose that one. I just wanted you to know."
Komm süße Schadenfreude....
October 23rd, 2010 at 9:38 PM ^
How'd that work out for you?
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:29 PM ^
This is the one week (until December) I can watch college fb w/out the specter of Michigan excitement / despondence / anxiety / ecstasy. No heart racing, just objective analysis and the ability to step away from the screen.
Is it next Saturday yet?
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:29 PM ^
B. Chappell just got IU on the board for IU. IU 7 ILL 3.
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:31 PM ^
And that damn wildcat roar is one of the most annoying things in the world.

He hates it! Hates it!
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:46 PM ^
I always thought it sounded more like a flushing toilet.
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:31 PM ^
Noo!!!!!!!!!!!
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:31 PM ^
Fumble MSU. It looks like they aren't lucky anymore.
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:31 PM ^
PURPLE NORTHWESTERN LUCK STRIKES AGAIN
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:33 PM ^
It is nice to see Dantonio back on the sidelines again.
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:39 PM ^
No question. Credit for him for building this program to this point.
Plus the healthier he is, the better we can all feel about disliking him next year.
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:36 PM ^
NW QB won't be around next year.
EDIT: did Bob just say Pesa was a R/S Junior?
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:35 PM ^
Wow luckiest team alive.
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:36 PM ^
MSU is still really lucky. :(
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:36 PM ^
PURPLE NORTHWESTERN LUCK STRIKES AGAIN
(truth: cats are as unlucky as they are lucky most of the time. shoot themselves in the foot all the time)
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:36 PM ^
Ugh, I really wanted to see 14-0
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:37 PM ^
Is anyone else watching the MSU/NW game with a Sparty? Are you rooting for their happiness, or Northwestern onslaught?
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:37 PM ^
understand why teams go away from their "bread and butter" like that. We did the same thing agains Indiana, with the same result.
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:41 PM ^
Because "everyone" knows you simply MUST go to a convential I formatiion to score from iinside the 5 yard line. Convential coaching wisdom is never wrong is it?
Sincerely,
The prevent defense
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:40 PM ^
DAMN IT. NU Fumbles at the 1, Sparty recovers.
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:41 PM ^
He was down i say!
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:42 PM ^
He's down. Don't get too comfy over there Sparty D.
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:42 PM ^
has to get overturned.
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:45 PM ^
Whats the line on Minn. new coach? They are keeping it pretty tight, they also said that Dungey is going to help in the serch.
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:45 PM ^
The NW offense is just running right at MSU. Where's their great LBs making plays?
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:46 PM ^
Not hAve a belly button? What's up with that?
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:49 PM ^
I hope that NW puts some points up here. They have dominated the early play but, much like us, they have squandered opportunities. I hate to see teams play badly and still win.
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:50 PM ^
Anyone else enjoy the "Persa picks the right hole" comment from the announcer or just me?
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:57 PM ^
Another Navy TD! Dobbs runs it in.
October 23rd, 2010 at 12:58 PM ^
MSU is just gashing Northwestern's defense with the straight ahead running game.
Serious question, does Dantonio leave if MSU wins 9-10 games? I've always thought he was a really solid coach, and I could see maybe Georgia looking at him. Thoughts?
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:05 PM ^
I don't think UGA would look at him. It's a reach but I could see Tressel recomending him for OSU when he hangs it up. I also think Tressel's kid or brother is on MSU's staff. It make sense since he has his head half way up OSU's/Tressels ass.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:13 PM ^
The real younger coaching stars are at Boise and TCU, but no one's been able to pry them away. I don't think Muschamp is willing to leave Texas and Fitzgerald isn't leaving Northwestern. To me, those are the sexiest coaches who are not head coaches at traditional power programs.
The SEC typically wants to hire upcoming superstars like Meyer or established solid coaches. I can't think of many great coaches that might be available.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:28 PM ^
I could see Muschamp going home (UGA) if they call and the price is right, possibly Dan Mullen if he keeps it up. I could seeTCU's coaches going to UT once Mack retires due to the easy recruiting transition. PSU will have Jay or Bradley, or even Al Golden (sp?) (Temple). I was asking my Buckeye buddy who he thinks is taking over when Tressel retires and he swears Pelini is going to leave Nebraska and come home, I disagree but he thinks so.
Edit: BSU coach doesn't seem to want to go anywhere I thought I heard him say once that he going to be the JoPa of the west. He can stay out there as far as I'm concerned, I don't want him coaching in the Big Ten.
