about time this happened
I remember those days of thinking Lloyd was paranoid for cutting off the media and silencing his players.
It all makes sense now.
really have someone after them. And they just happen to be smart enough to know it.
Lloyd was a pretty successful coach, and there is a reason he did some of the things the way he did.
Edit: cjm you beat me to it.
and Countdown to Kickoff will only show test patterns and play somber military music!
But seriously, this will only be a bit of a bummer for the fans and not much else.
I actually think this is best. Just as long as they let the Countdown to Kickoff crew in.
I'd rather have Woolfolk out instead of the media in (even Countdown to Kickoff). I need to find out what else he won't eat for breakfast.
Lockdown sequence activated.
Defcon set at level one.
Implement operation Overlord. Code named: Fuck Shit Up.
just let GoBlueWolverine and The Wolverine in on practice. Control what can be reported, and focus on the positive.
Don't like it? Too bad, frankly I don't think we owe the Detroit area press anything.
Apple has this down to an art. Even in the midst of the iPhone 4 antenna issue, they haven't lost any sales.
Release a good product (win), control the message, and let the detractors wither on the vine.
For the best especially after that some people described new plays they saw. Though I will miss all the good reading every day.
Im glad that RR is taking steps to protect the players from sneaky press members.
who we have to thank for this. My tin foil hat is telling me it's the paper that shall not be named that is the cause for this or, Dave Brandon is sayin. Hey, Rich you know Bo would have played it like this. I could be wrong, my tin foil hat has been wrong before
This is what happens when you bite the hand that feeds you -- you get slapped.
Yup, and Phase 2 will begin shortly.
Phase2: Choice media outlets who aren't overrun by agenda driven A-Holes will have exclusive access.
People who have been fair to the program deserve some perks. Angelique and the scout/rivals/mgoblog staffs for example.
We need a demotivational poster that says, "David Brandon's Pimp Hand," with that as the caption underneath.
Dave Brandons Pimp hand is strong
Gah I have too much time on my hands.
Indeed. Someone make that a t-shirt!
Like This?
Ok, admittedly, that took a lot less effort than the first one.
EDIT: Second attempt FTW
2nd EDIT: It looks like my link from the first post has expired, so repost!
FWIW, this is more or less exactly what OSU does.
Except OSU is closed up because they can't let anybody see all those "secondary" violations going on...
I kid, I kid..... or do I?????
I feel sorry for your friends and family.
You shouldn't. They're very happy and very well provided for.
Ah the powers of a Michigan education.
I'm not a lawyer nor have I ever read the Freedom of Information Act, but is there a possibility that someone could use that as a basis of fighting against a no press rule?
I'm no lawyer either, but I believe FOIA only applies to documents. Written, sound, video, etc.
I'm sure some DBag will try and invoke the whole open assembly thing that they tried to pull on the "emergency" reagents meeting back when the NCAA notice came in.
Sometimes, when reagents are added to the mix, there is a violent chemical reaction. Sometimes, when regents get together, it can be boring
Yep, that regents meeting was exactly what I was thinking of and wasn't sure what the basis of their argument had been.
However, first we'll see some articles about how this is bad, bad, bad and a sure sign that things have gotten out of control for RR. Then there will be some daft old-timers claiming that Bo and Carr would have NEVER have done this and this is further evidence that RR should be fired. It will be fun to watch...but not as much as the beat down UConn is gonna get.
Radio silence means rest of country unaware of the football decepticon we are about to build. +1 for more shock and awe.

Legitimately, regardless of how the season goes I would count it successful if we can stop getting constant bad press. Cutting the press out of practice seems a good first step to that.

The return of Fort Schembechler...two years too late, but better late than never.
The FORT IS BACK
when I would be happy for the return of Fort Schembechler.
Congratulations to the Freep and the rotting zombie corpse of the Ann Arbor News: you're getting what has been long coming to you. Fuck y'all, y'all.
Thank God.
