Softball Blows 4-run Lead, Falls to IU
No sugar-coating it - this loss sucks. After building a 4-0 lead, Michigan let it all slip away, giving up the tying run with 2 outs in the 7th, and then ceding a walk-off homer in extras. Tomorrow's rubber game is a must-win if Michigan wants any chance at the regular season title. All margin for error has been drained out of the championship chase.
I only had GameTracker for this one, so I couldn't see how it played out. Even with the umps, though, we had every chance to win this thing. Not scoring any runs when we loaded 'em up in the 6th, then giving up the tying run with 2 outs, then the top six batters going down in order in extra innings... Ugh, incredibly frustrating game. Just hope they can put it behind them & take the series tomorrow.
My heart says downvote because the news is bad, but my head says upvote because you're just the bearer of the news. Bad as it is.
regular season title, they can try for the BIG tourney title. Minnesota is also playing well right now.
probably can't hang with minnesota. And even if they could, what difference does it make? early exit in the playoffs is inevitable.
I'm not saying this is one of michigan's best teams ever... but what makes you think Minnesota is all that? Their loss to MSU? Swept by ND/FSU the same weekend we picked up 2 wins against those teams?
