Nebraska football

They're going to have a rough year. Their defense is garbage and their schedule is the toughest in the conference. They might start to look like a Frost unit by the end of the year but man, there's going to be some growing pains for Big Red this year.
Home for Iowa, MSU. That’s a pretty tough schedule.
Colorado played for the pac 12 title two years ago and Troy won in Baton Rouge last year and has a coach that rivals Frost for best young coach in the game. I'd expect Nebraska to lose both of those games as of today.
as well
That's tough, but I think ours it tougher. @ND @MSU @OSU @NW
and at home we got Nebraska UW and PSU
So the trade off is UM and Iowa instead PSU ND and Nebraska
It's much tougher than ours. I'd put us at 4th in the conference, schedule-wise. I'm just not worried about much on our schedule, assuming Shea is eligible. I'm really not. Nebraska has 2 sure fire wins on their. Troy should win in Nebraska. Colorado will probably be favored too. Nebraska will have to fight to get to 5 wins this year.

We shoud all be worried about OSU in Cbus.
It sounds like you are basing how tough their schedule is in part by how good Nebraska will be. Nothing wrong with that if you are but I think most people judge schedules to say how it would look if x or y team played that same schedule.
And no offense but Troy should not win in Nebraska, and they will not be favored to win. Yea they beat LSU and won the SUn Belt, they also lost to Boise and had close games with a few terrible teams, I don't think they can sustain that success anyway but I guess we will see. Colorado was also terrible last year, why would you expect them to turn it around and be better than Nebraska who has made a big upgrade in coaching?

1. Michigan
2. Nebraska
3. Rutgers
7. Indiana
8. Northwestern
10. Maryland
Six of 10 all in the B1G? How can that be?
Between playing Michigan, Wisconsin, OSU and Iowa on the road, getting MSU as our other crossover, coming back from a bad season and having a new coach, we have our work cut out for us. I'd give us the edge, if you want to call it that, on having the toughest schedule given Michigan is coming off a successful season and has their coach formly in place.
Nice crowd for a spring game.
Nebraska will be back as a CFB power, we've ony lacked a great coach and AD.
Best of luck on your 2018 season, Michigan (except when we play you).
GBR!
Do you want to trade schedules?
and the two schedules are both plenty tough, so given it's a tossup as far as being challenging, I was using that as a tiebreaker. I'm happy to see us playing each other again.
He is a Braska fan, that is their schtick. They like to kill other fanbases with kindness acting all civil and pleasant. It's gross and I suspect that underneath it all they are all serial killers or something.

I hope Nebraska was a true draft or they are in big trouble defensively next year. I am seeing a Rich Rod style transition year with a better-suited QB(s) but much worse defense. Not a great sign imo when a true Frosh - no matter how talented - is such a focus on O. Lindsay could be beat up by mid-year with the workload he may be getting.
ND defense looks pretty decent. Wimbush not scaring me so far.
You only need a release to take a scholarship. If Burrow could qualify for in-state tuition at Nebraska by having family there, then he might think it worthwhile to go play for Frost. Not saying that is the expected outcome, just saying that there is a plausible way around the release issue.
You're certainly right (and granted we all know the type of person Urbs is), but would that not be extremely petty to restrict Burrow's release? Not by any means saying Urban is above that, but Burrow has competed hard for three years, hasn't had a chance to prove anything on the field, and would have a great opportunity to play in front of family at Nebraska for a good coach at a solid university. If Joe came to Urban with that desire, I don't see how you can morally restrict a 20 year old from that decision. Especially when he wasn't good enough to be your starting QB, and he'd be headed to a projected middle-of-the-road team in the West (they do play each other though, I know). TIp of the cap to Beilein for repeatedly allowing outgoing transfers to choose where they wish to attend, I think you have to advocate for the student-athlete's success over competition--even moreso if you were planning on benching them anyway.
It's the coaching and AD that have been the problem.
We ended up 22 on 247 ranking despite changing staffs, and really that's been pretty typical even during our dominant years. Huskers have never been a recruiting powerhouse for obvious reasons.
Frost has said he's got a plan to restore walkon program - given it cant be quite what it was in the Osborne era, he certainly knows how to if anybody does.
You're so right that it's not as easy for any of the bluebloods - both Michigan and Nebraska more or less only had one serious conference threat in the old days.
I still think the number one key to CFB success is excellent coaching and unity between the coaching and AD dept. Michigan certainly experienced that recently, and took the steps necessary to correct things. Husker fans think we have that now but time will tell.
I appreciated the number of comments and posts on the MGoBoard about our spring game and program. The two fan bases and programs have had their dramatic moments, actually somewhat out of proportion to the number of games we've played. But I sense most Michigan fans prefer having the "old Nebraska" in the B1G.
through three quarters.
How bad is the defense there?
It'll be their best unit by far this season. That being said I don't think it's as scary as some think it is. They return 8 starters from a unit that was on par with Purdue's defense last year. We return 9 from a top 10 unit. I'd expect them to be a top 25 defense and us to be top 3. 31-17 is my early prediction for that game.
led me to believe the d lines on both squads were getting torched.
The first 18 years of my life, I had to suffer through non stop Huskers fans everywhere I turned. Few things have been more enjoyable than watching them the past decade and a half. They supposidly have their savior now. I don't doubt that in a couple years they face Michigan in the B1G championship game. Here's to hoping Scott Frost gets both his legs broke on the sidelines and has to coach in a wheelchair the rest of his life.
Perhaps it's better worded "more than two touchdowns".
