The Masters (open thread)
It has been a slow couple of days on the board, it seems. I know there are many avid golfers who frequent this blog. I'm a Rickie Fowler fan, so hopefully my guy can finally win his first major this weekend.
Today's tee times:

We all know the old farts in charge of the Masters love to NOT have people watch their tournament on television, hence the incredibly shitty coverage, but here are ways to watch it in some capacity online before the television coverage commences:

One more thing - we're down to 149 days until football starts.
Tiger might be the biggest ass in all sports. If people ever met him and knew what kind of a person he really is, they would never cheer for him again. I hope he never wins another tourney.
Cue the soft piano noodling. Fire up the sweet, sweet drone of Jim Nance's golf voice.
Lefty becomes the oldest Masters champ this weekend while being paired with Tiger.
Will Tiger make the cut?
I agree with both points made. I'm not a golf expert so thought I'd gauge others' opinions.
Masters and then the Spring Game. Nice run. Thanks for tee times. Seems like the major contenders are in the last 4 groups today, which should be televised. DVR opportunity for those working today.
You've been here for nearly 10 years, you know the Spring Game will absolutely be in the same conversation as Final Four and Frozen Four! :P
Spring Game is very enticing depending on weather. I also have no problem watching in the comfort of my home so I can watch replays, look up names of new players, etc...
For a few short years Seve was Da Man. Perhaps his most repeated quote, following a four putt at Augusta #16. "I miss the putt, I miss the putt, I miss the put, I make."
Bubba is going to win and I will be mad. I want Tiger all day, but Augusta is a lefty course now.
Want someone who hasn't won before to get it. If not, Tiger or Phil would be great to watch.
Golf isn't a sport.
Perhaps a few others do too.
Ah yes, silly me. I guess we should just discuss countless and lame mock drafts every week. Also, let's post our fantasy football threads, too. Because those are really important every year.
Did you see the dude who wrecked his ankle celebrating a hole-in-one? I think he did it during the Par 3 contest.
It is something that all members, most guests, and many Masters patrons know; never, ever run while on the grounds of the National.
I think it was the ghost of Clifford Roberts that tripped Tony Finau.
(Finau, btw, is a very nice guy and is one of Jack Nicklaus' personal favorites among young golfers on the Tour.)
But seriously; ask anybody who's been a guest at ANGC. They tell you, "No running, please."
Currently -1 after 7.
FIGJAM!
During three practice rounds this week Tiger striped a driver down the 1st fairway. Today, the first day of competition, he hit three wood into the trees.
Palmer Player or Nicklaus, not Trevino. He never liked course.
Birdie for Tiger Woods. At -1 after 3 holes.
One of the most amazing things I've ever watched in sports.
We will never see a performance like that in the Masters again. He was just a kid when he was doing that.
Most fun to watch since John Daly.
Sergio posts a 13 at 15 :(
Couldn't have happened to a better guy lol
How many other sports are there where even the world's best players are occasionally so humbled by the game that they look like a mediocre amateur?
That was brutal. I'm watching the tournament casually on ESPN in my office w/the sound off -- looked up at my TV a few times and saw Sergio's ball going into the water and thought, "Man, how many times are they gonna replay that?" Then I realized each one was a different shot! Yikes.
Anyone elses ESPN tv coverage really choppy or is it my feed/tv??
Aside from hitting a hole in one and injuring his ankle yesterday and in a great position to be tied for the lead today.
Finau was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. Finau won the Utah State Amateur Championship in 2006, defeating future PGA Tour player Daniel Summerhays. Although he had college scholarship offers in basketball, he turned professional at the age of 17.
Finau is of Tongan and American Samoan descent, the first person of such ancestry to play on the PGA Tour.
Finau and his brother Gipper competed on the Golf Channel's The Big Break in 2009. Finau finished second on Big Break Disney Golf.
He is the cousin of basketball player Jabari Parker.
Gipper was never able to get past the second stage of PGA Tour Q School.
