The disappointment is almost worth it

This post in unacceptable. I'm totally down with getting behind the young men who represent the University we all love. If you want to emphasize what they did accomplish, and look for better days ahead, regression to the mean and all that, I agree completely.
Finding enjoyment in spiting fellow Michigan fans is just plain uncool. Enjoying spite towards OSU, MSU, their loathsome coaches and their tiresome fans is fine. Against fellow Wolverines is...just go sit in a corner and think about what you did.

Or maybe we're oh I don't know... spoiled?
Think we had two top ten recuiting classes and two years of success (2015-2016) so when 2018 recuiting class isn't that great it's the end of the world?
Give time and trust in 2018.

I am definitely in the Harbaugh we trust camp. And I also love criticism beyond the blanket: 3rd place, unacceptable, ass handed to us on the recruiting trail, x-x against our rivals, Fire pep/drevno.
Brian talked about not filling in with Plan B's behind the loss of Hamilton and Wilson on the recruiting trail. Valid and informative.
The issue is on the board comments, there is so little of anything approaching that level of insight regarding where the program is at and where Harbaugh could improve, that it's making a great website into a whiner's forum. MSM comment board level stuff.

In 2017, our best win was @ Purdue who ended up 7-6!!!
In 2018 we play:
@ 12-2 Ohio State
vs 11-2 Penn State
vs 13-1 Wisconsin
@10-3 Notre Dame
@ 10-3 Michigan State
@ 10-3 Northwestern
It's not hyperbole to say that this year's team would have went 6-6 vs next year's schedule. So, if we go 3-3 vs those 6 in 2018 I will be happy and surprised. 9-3 would be fantastic with that schedule.
Unfortunately, for me, 8-4 is more likely than 9-3. 7-5 is mre likely than 10-2, and 6-6 is more likley than 11-1. If we go 7-5 in harbaugh's 4th year the hype is dead and we're just any other mediocre Big Ten team.

With 9-3?
Come on.
Nothing will ever, ever set up correctly on the path to winning a title. The team has to go out and win games that are going to be, gasp, TOUGH.
If they go 9-3, we have a serious problem on our hands.

That is wild hyperbole. 2016 UM would have gotten destroyed by Clemson or Bama.

I'll never look at recruiting or people who go over a barrel about a negative recruiting result again.
Thank you.
The comment should be a thread title.

I have no idea what this thread means, but I have to tell you -- I'm starting to lose interest in Michigan football. Maybe it was inevitable, and would have happened no matter how we were doing. I don't want to lose interest, and I'm not angry about it. I'm just tired of not seeing any real progress. Sure, we're better than we were with Hoke and Rodriguez. But it's like we hit a wall. Maybe Harbaugh is going to make bigger changes than what we're seeing now, and maybe he isn't.

A season ago we went 10-3 losing three games by a combined 5 points. We had the lead late in all three games.
Everyone is sick of losing to osu and msu, not winning the Big 10, but the sky isn't falling. Last season was a step back, the two prior were major steps forward from the RR/Hoke years.
If not Harbaugh, who?

This entire unacceptable thread reminds me of Nebraska. Because of various things, like what was before the Big12 was weak along with the demise of Oklahoma for awhile Nebraska had a glorious run. After Osborne left there was an expectation of a continuation of what had been there before. Never mind that football had changed and running the option was not going to work any longer or that Nebraska was going to be a hotbed of recruiting. Another coach was not quite up to the standards. It was unacceptable and he was fired. Another coach was brought in who was not up to the standards of the previous coach. It was unacceptable and he was fired. Repeat and rinse until Nebraska is at the bottom. Now Nebraska has their "Harbaugh" savior in Frost. When 10,11 win seasons do not happen I am sure the unacceptable crowd will come out again.
The reality is the unacceptables only care about wins and losses. If the wins were lucky and the losses unlucky, never mind. I do not post much. But it was pretty obvious to me that the 2011 season was really scary and I had reservations that we were in for tough times. Part of the problem since 1997 is every setback is unacceptable. R^2 had his own issues but we forget the upperclassmen or lack of them was due to the failure of Carr in his last couple years. So we brought in an incompetent insider who ran the program into the ground. If Hoke had remained in 2015 is there any doubt we would have lost all of our Big10 games? It was only Harbaugh who got a functioning QB in. Now Harbaugh is struggling through the recruiting gap recruited by Hoke.
If you fire Harbaugh, a coach every NFL franchise is licking their chops to peel away from Michigan who is going to take this job. No hot shot coach or recruiter would ever touch Michigan.
Unless a coach is failing on the tactical side, you do not evaluate him until he has all his players in place. That is not the case. UM went 8-5 because there was a lack of depth at the most important positions because of recruiting failures by Hoke. If Harbaugh had an average Big10 QB the team is at least 10-3.
If the unacceptables at Nebraska are as virulent as those at Michigan Scot Frost will be in hot water also. The reality is Nebraska from a talent perspective is shot. They have the wrong players for what Frost wants to do. Yet the unacceptables will expect a return to the equivalent of when Nebraska used to go 10-1.

Michigan State is a big deal in the state of Michigan but that's about it. Everyone else thinks U of M when they think about the school in Michigan.

You are openly enjoying and promoting divide in the Michigan fanbase. You are the worst kind of fan, if we can actually call you that much. Maybe it's time you continue your fandom silently. That or grow the fuck up.
