Patterson to ND
BREAKING: Four-star OL Jarrett Patterson commits to #NotreDame. He spoke to #IrishIllustrated and @247Sports on Tuesday about why he picked the Fighting Irish today. "All of the schools were great, but Notre Dame really fit me best." https://t.co/QAPNkcSspb @247Sports @jpatt78 pic.twitter.com/hUXkXXD3nf

I hate Signing Day because nobody has zero idea how most of these kids will end up panning out. Remember when we were all bummed that George Campbell flipped to FSU? (and, yes, I know that was in advance of NSD).
But, man, I'd be lying if I wasn't a little bit concerned. Ohio State is putting together another absolutely monster class while Harbaugh is grabbing dudes who GT wanted as an option QB. I'm definitely of the mindset that if Harbaugh isn't the guy, then who the hell is, but if they go 8-5 again next year (a distinct possibility), then the majority of the base is going to go from frustrated to downright furious.
Part of me wonders if this is simply the new normal. That we're not on Ohio State or Alabama's level anymore and more akin to the ND/Nebraska "hey, remember when those guys used to be one of the best programs in the country".

The next time we get to the Rose Bowl this fan base will celebrate like NW last year making its first ever NCAA toruney because Michigan won't be going for decades.

Look back at recent (25 years or so) history. When was UM ever at the level OSU and Bama are now? I really think that is the delusion that causes people to go apeshit.

Unfortunately, we've failed to recruit and develop QBs and OL and we've changed coaches 3 times in a decade. It is incredibly important for Harbaugh to succeed and develop a succession plan to avoid realizing the scenario you described.

What a complete train wreck this season and this recruiting class is. Of course we got good players and I'm always excited for Michigan football but there is no, absolutely no excuse for getting out recruited by every single coach who went against them for a recruit or that went after one of our recruits and was successful in flipping them? What a let down.
No excuses next year, cancel the team trip to France or Japan or wherever the hell you're going and get into the damn submarne and fix the OL and the QB situation and beat all of our rivals!!!
All 3 Rivalry games on the road? Shut up and Win
We're the only team in the East that has to play, Wisc, MSU, PSU and OSU? Shut up and Win!
We start the season on the road against ND? Shut up and Win!
BIG Championship? Shut up and get it done!!

Have to win more before expecting every recruit to choose Michigan. Things will work themselves out, the current team has lots of talent

I hope we whoop their ass the next 2 years.

Don't get how OT is obviously our biggest need, yet we only targeted (as far as I know) three players late: NPF, Patterson and a grad transfer. The first two, as was commonly known, were leaning elsewhere for a while. Why did we not cast a wider net? OL recruiting with this staff has been frustrating IMO.

Not going to get better unless some changes are made.
