Three more in-state offers today
I already talked about Tre Mosley and Cornell Wheeler today.
Michigan also offered three more players today:
Walled Lake Western OT Spencer Brown, a Michigan State commit (2019)
Walled Lake Western QB Sam Johnson III (2019)
Belleville DE Damon Payne (2021)
I wonder what's running through the minds of MSU commits right now. Especially as other big programs come swooping in, I would think they might be on the verge of jumping ship.

I could see some recruits having second thoughts. It's one thing if you are told it's an empire, and you haven't actually received a Michigan (or other impressive school) offer. However its an entirely different thing when recruits are considering...
The case for sanctions.

He's neck deep in it. Don't be shocked if it sticks.
Besides, nothing needs to happen to him for kids with a conscience to bail. And kids with a conscience are the ones more likely to be Michigan men.

Even if nothing happens to Dantonio, it's feasible that some parents/kids will cross them off their list.

Unfortunately OSU can be more selective at this point and unlike M doesn’t have any true competition for in-state kids.
Regardless of how we feel about Mork and MSU, they do a good job in-state - particularly with the mid-tier kids that we used to be able to swoop in and make a run at a month or two before signing day. I think the early signing period also plays a role...have to let these kids know that they might have a chance at M or risk them already being signed before M finds late spots for them.

...but Dunaway didn't end up in the class, so I don't see any way that hurt Michigan.
And Davis took up a scholarship for one year. Unless you know of a big-time recruit we had to turn away to keep Davis in the class, then I don't see the issue.
Out of the two guys you mentioned, it cost Michigan exactly 1 scholarship for 1 year.

Never heard of Walled Lake Western. Serious question, have they been a powerhouse in recent years? Or do they just happen to have a couple of really talented guys this year?
GO BLUE!!

championship. Muskegon Reeths Puffer. I had heard the coach at that time was kind of a "recruiter" taking some at risk kids but basically doing good by them. Yes, they were good football players and I'd say he was trying to conclude a 'win-win" situation. I think he did. Some of his kids finished school and received MAC ships which would not have happened had they stayed in their former residences.
Both teams played very shitty that day, not deserving of being in the title game. Puffer just got one more break - and it was a monster, deflected pass right into the hands of the trailing receiver on the game's last play for a TD. But yeah I think WLW makes some noise pretty much every year now. No strangers to big victories.

They have had some very good teams over the years, but recently they have "walked into" a wealth of talent. Farmington Hills Harrison closing down this year doesn't hurt.
Sort of like Cass Tech & Belleville and now West Bloomfield.
Kids are flocking to these schools.
They haven't put a ton of talent into D1 in the past but that is obviously changing. Cody White MSU WR went there.
Michigan is obviously trying to get into these schools - better late than never...

First year, actually very first game I ever watched UM, they have this player, Barry Pierson who has a day any UM player would be proud of forever. Two picks returned a long way and a punt a return to boot. One of them went for six. Kid was everywhere.
About a decade later, MI h.s. comes out with the playoffs and the Upper teams - lower levels just kicked ass for about the first 8 to 10 years, then just as quickly as Barry was the last Yupper I've heard of playing for the state's greatest school, very few championships making their way back across the bridge.
I'm thinking it had a lot to do with weight training. I think the kids at that time were just naturally stronger due to their work in the U.P. Very, very strong kids. And the schools below the bridge were just getting into it. Remember, these are the lower level schools and we only had 4 divisions. Would be nice to see them back and I would not mind a couple on the Michigan roster either. Just a tough brand of player from up there.

It's scary to think how much this douche has covered up. It's alot.
The only question is if they can find anything that he burned.

Brown was interviewed and said that he would consider flipping to Michigan if we recruit him hard. Wow.
I said it before, I like Spencer Brown more than Logan Brown as an O lineman and I know Logan's coaches. You do not see athleticism like Spencer Brown's at that size in high school. Kid can move. Would love to swip him from the Rape factory. Brown is really under ranked and IMO should be challenging Dobbs for the top ranked player in the state, sounds like we have a legit shot.
