i think i would have chosen to wear sleaves. i'm amazed how many players go bare arms in this type of weather.

Pussy. I used to play golf totally naked in Alert, Nunavut during January. My penis fell off TWICE!

I gotta tell the truth, it's got a lot of miles on it. And it ain't those easy-driving highway miles. It's mostly "desperate girl at the bar at 2 AM" miles...

you walk into a bar at ten and see a chick that's a 2 but by 2 A.M she's a 10
a 2 at 10 but a 10 at 2

Near repeat of OSU for the Hawkeyes; interception returned to the BC 5 on the third play of the game.

take the FG but iowa should have been able to punch it in from the 5.

Yeah, I agree. Good slate this evening overall, a lot of evenly matched teams and all Power 5 matchups.
Storylines:
- Tom Herman is trying to avoid a losing record in his first season in Austin (Texas enters 6-6).
- Purdue seeking its first bowl win since 2011 (last appearance in 2013 was a loss).
- Khalil Tate is always fun to watch.
- Iowa is trying to snap a five game bowl losing streak (haven't won a bowl game since the 2010 season).
- BC and Iowa seem very evenly matched.
- First games for both the SEC and Big Ten.

it looks like some of the BC players are wearing running shoes and not cleats??? the qb just wiped out trying to round the corner.
December 27th, 2017 at 5:47 PM ^
Flat shoes with a light tread to maximize surface are the ticket.

At least they ruined Ohio State's too?

Hard to hate them after that. Throw in the wave they do to the kids in the hosptal, and it's difficult to root against them now.

that the bowls in NY and Detroit are just punishment camps to give teams incentives to do better next year. What a miserable place for a bowl game

I'm surprised how full this game looks in the stands. I suppose BC is closeby and Iowa always travels well.

how about some theme bowls.
the Mud Bowl or Mudslide bowl brought to you by Kahlua or Bailey's. drench the field and have them play in a true mud bowl.
the ice bowl. brought to you by smirnoff vodka. bring in snow machines and make sure there is 6 inches of snow on the ground and blowing snow.
the water bowl with giants sprinklers dropping a torrential rain storm on the field. could be sponsored by Rainbird.

You are not wrong there.
BC clings to this institutional memory of Flutie, Coughlin and Ryan eras.
At Temple, we had Addazio for a couple years. Not a good coach at all. He will never get BC back to that time.
December 27th, 2017 at 6:10 PM ^
AJ Dillon - 268 carries, 1,432 yards (5.3 avg), 13 TD
Higdon/Evans/Isaac - 361 carries, 2,138 yards (5.9 avg), 19 TD.
Dillon's very good, but our RB position is in good shape anyway.

This game is surprisingly entertaining

Kirk Ferentz teams are so damn frustrating to watch. Thank God I'm not an Iowa fan.
December 27th, 2017 at 6:14 PM ^
But hope Purdue wins. Really sucks we haven't beaten a winning record since Wisconsin last year.

or does the stadium announcer sound like a dude version of Miss Othmar from Peanuts. Or the sound of a monster atacking Japan...

I have no clue why, with as good of a defense as we have, we can't force turnovers like Iowa
December 27th, 2017 at 6:27 PM ^
That may be a tradeoff with all the man coverage we play. In man you can't watch the QB's eyes and go to the ball; you're following your man the whole way and only see the ball at the end.
We don't get that many turnovers, but we do force a huge number of 3 and outs.
