is incredible. We live in a day and age where "multiple cracked vertibre" does not end your football season.

Vertibro-brahs.

Vertibrats, bro!

Or, that there are varying degrees/kinds of fractured vertebrae, and it can be not nearly as awful as it sounds at first airing.

might be right be is just an all the time contrarian. He is a know-it-all poster who only speaks to tell others they are wrong about something. It was getting old three years ago and now it is just pathetic.

That is incredible. We live in a day and age where "multiple cracked vertibre" does not end your football season.Or your football playing career for that matter.

During the 1014 season Tony Romo suffered transverse process fractures of two lower back vertebrae and only missed one game. Likely that is what Speight suffered except his were in the neck.
November 14th, 2017 at 5:24 AM ^
There are small protrusions called the transverse arches that are rarely fractured and would be a very serious injury. Much more probable that he had small anterior vertebral body fractures from the hyperflexion mechanism of the injury.

That is terrific to see. Importantly the article says that Eubanks is also coming back to practice, that the injuries to Higdon and Isaac don't seem to be an issue but Lavert Hill is still in the concussion protocal.
With the exception of Hill (which is significant), all looking up.
November 13th, 2017 at 1:09 PM ^
I know that Speight is the headliner, but the updates on Higdon, Ty and Eubanks all seem to be positive and trending in the right direction.
November 13th, 2017 at 4:37 PM ^
I would say the news on Issac, Higdon, Onwenu is actually the big news. We need all these guys healthy next week to give our offense a better shot of moving the ball and scoring some points.
But, good to see all players doing better and getting back to practice. Hopefully Hill will be able to go this week.

I had to wager, the Higdon "good news" is that he will probably play against Ohio State. While not one of the worst I have seen, that was surely a sprain and he could not put much weight on it. My guess is that he travels and dresses but does not play in Madison.
November 13th, 2017 at 1:10 PM ^
I'd wager Higdon plays this week. But, I don't know more than what Harbaugh said.

game was over at halftime. There was nothing illustrative about the second half, at all. It had to be played in order for the game to officially count. That is all.

Athletic tape can do wonderful things. I bet he plays Saturday.
November 13th, 2017 at 1:17 PM ^
and it its real serious, you whip out the Duct Tape.

a full week of treatment and then maybe some tape, tramadol, etc on gameday and hes got a chance.
who knows though given the varying degrees of ankle injuries and the impact of a bum wheel on RBs like higdon.
theyll need all hands on deck vs wisc so hopefully some tape does work wonders
November 13th, 2017 at 1:11 PM ^
If you had to wager, I would wager against you.
November 13th, 2017 at 1:15 PM ^
bet you a Steak Quesarito that Higdon doesn't play this Saturday.
November 13th, 2017 at 1:31 PM ^
fuck you're on
November 13th, 2017 at 1:58 PM ^
doodoo. Bet him a Zingerman's pastrami on rye with coleslaw and Russian dressing at least.
November 13th, 2017 at 2:09 PM ^
Taco Bell is awesome.
November 13th, 2017 at 2:19 PM ^
I mean, pastrami and rye is awful. But Toxic Hell is just as bad, if not worse. I really don't get the love affair with Taco Bell...
November 13th, 2017 at 2:34 PM ^
me, I am most impressed by T-Bell having a menu of nearly 200 items while working with a absolute maximum of ten ingredients. Ingenuity at its finest.

I don't see the point of not being a food snob. Have some standards.
November 13th, 2017 at 4:28 PM ^
you're a food snob? I'd call it having at least a little bit of standards for what you put into your body.
November 13th, 2017 at 8:06 PM ^
What Taco Bell serves can only be called 'food' by the most technical of definitions. Yep, you can stuff it in your mouth and force your body to deal with it, that's about it.
November 13th, 2017 at 2:53 PM ^
"if not worse"? It's worse. So. Much. Worse.
Barely qualifies to be called food, IMO.
November 13th, 2017 at 3:01 PM ^
not food, it's Taco Bell. I would never confuse the two. Actual food curtails hunger. Taco Bell does no such thing. I often find myself hungrier after I eat it. That is all part of the magic.
November 13th, 2017 at 3:23 PM ^
Seems like you're a food snob. Welcome to the club!
November 13th, 2017 at 2:24 PM ^
Make it their Cuban or I'd prefer Taco Bell

am speculating but I don't know if it is "wildly." If I said that Higdon was going to sit out this weekend and then play against Ohio State in a maize and blue Iron Man suit, that would be "wild" speculation. This just seems pretty standard.

There's no use in taking him to Madison. Better to keep him in AA and get as much treatment and rest as possible for the ankle.
November 13th, 2017 at 2:00 PM ^
How do you know Higdon couldn't put much weight on his ankle? He walked to the locker room with a bit of a limp but not enough that we could conclude at that time that he wasn't coming back in the game in the 2nd half.
