But the point is the same. Why would a statistical measure come up with OSU as #1. Over a undefeated Alabama or Miami for example

Exactly. With a top 50 type of defense and with the offense humming like it is, Arizona would likely have at least 1 fewer loss. They likely would've beaten USC. The Houston and Utah losses were before Khalil Tate took over so those are question marks. But still, someone get RR the memo on championship football.

With the #108 offense?

They put up 55 against OSU and hit the O/U on their own, then they go out and put up 65 total yards of offense against Wiscy. College sports, man. Just can't explain it.

There's no way that Iowa puts up 55 on OSU in Columbus, and I doubt they get that badly manhandled by Wisconsin if they're playing in Kinnick.
The large majority of eye-popping upsets happen when the favorite is on the road. OSU's beatdown by OK in Columbus and Stanford's 2007 upset of USC in LA are very rare exceptions.

I'm referring not to just any upset but those where a highly-ranked team is beaten by a team that's much lower ranked or not ranked at all. For Michigan, for every Appy St home upset there are several big road upsets like 2016 Iowa, 2003 Oregon, 1981 Wisconsin, 1976 or 1996 Purdue, or 1977 Minnesota.

So Iowa beat Iowa...
