At least not on scholarship (he may be rated highly as a JUCO, I personally doubt he's the best JUCO prospect at his position). That doesn't mean that Harbaugh wouldn't take some time to talk with him (especially with Harbaugh's connections with the family), spend some time discussing what he needs to do and what are the options for his future, and possibly reach out to other coaches at various levels to see about him landing somewhere.

Harbaugh is also the sort of person that would do the call not only to help a talented kid get back on course, but also to give that kid a chance to stir up interest by giving an impression that Michigan's in the mix.
Plus, that tweet will drive a certain portion of the MSU fanbase a little batshit, which isn't a bad thing.

Agreed,
He washed out of MSU twice and also has a checkered history with the the UCLA program as he committed there twice and both times backed out in favor of MSU. He's just not a player I would think UM would consider and this was likely more of a guidance type of conversation.

I took a stab at which post had the offending HTML, so if you find that you post in this thread is gone, it certainly isn't because of anything you did....well, other than insert broken code into this thread.
For quoting articles, it's easier to copy the text, paste it here in Plan Text Mode, and then italicize it to denote it is from another source.

I don't like this at all.

If academically qualified players want to come to UM, the coaches want them, and they can help the team, then I don't care where they come from.
November 8th, 2017 at 11:07 AM ^
Yeah I don't get the pearl clutching in this thread. If Harbaugh thinks he's a fit and he's academically qualified then I don't see any reason why we can't give him a shot.
November 8th, 2017 at 1:05 PM ^
Because he has a flakey history in that failed out of MSU and then was denied entry a second time, all the while twice committing to UCLA before ditching them for MSU again. The rumors are that his main issue with UCLA was he didn't like the academics. It's not pearl clutching to think that the upside is not worth the potential downside given his history.

I think Harbaugh has a pretty good idea of whether or not he will be a fit. I also prefer to avoid calling kids flakes without knowing the whole story. Not saying that you don't.

will be easier to take than ones that weren't.

WR too at one point... but do not recall his name.
Believe he ended up as a full or part time starter.

I'd be interested in seeing how introducing JUCOs to the fold would work out long term - anyone recall any Jucos that played for M in the past?

His brother played at Stanford and probably has some connection to Harbaugh (either Harbaugh started recruiting him or he knows him through Shaw).
November 8th, 2017 at 11:53 AM ^
I'm guessing Harbaugh recruited his brother Andrus Peat while coaching at Stanford before leaving for SF. Father Todd also played in NFL.
November 8th, 2017 at 11:56 AM ^
Has he told the admissions office he's changing his tune on JUCOs? That's the limiting factor--these guys usually have a heck of a time getting credits to transfer and all of that.
November 8th, 2017 at 4:09 PM ^
It's based on one tweet from a troubled ex-player with a completely non-specific and vague statement at the end and extrapolating it into "JH changing his tune on JUCOs." It's even more clownish than the "Peters is transferring" horseshit.
On top of the fact that anybody with the barest knowledge of Michigan football knows that getting JUCOs into UM is extremely difficult even for non-athletes with good credentials because UM's standards for transferable credits are very stringent. Now we're talking about a kid who basically failed out of MSU for chrissakes?
Jesus H. Christ. It's like the offseason here.
