What a stupid, lazy reply. And that's a fucking stupid term, too.

The sad thing is he probably thought he was being clever.

and only flipped to MSU after a late offer from Sparty.

When will this end ? The higher the recruit is ranked, the more likely they are to be good. This is a well documented fact. Do I trust that Harbaugh is above average at finding sleepers ? Yes. But a whole class of sleepers is very scary. (Yes I know we have a few highly ranked recruits, but not nearly enough)

Kevin Grady, Sam McGuffie, and Derrick Green all agree with you.

There are about 2,500-3,000 total recruits every year. In each class there are about 25-35 five-star prospects. So that means about ~1% of high school seniors are deemed 5-stars every year.
From 2002-2010 there were 262 former 5-star recruits. 116 of them were drafted (44.3%), and 42 of them were 1st rounders (~16%). In comparison, the remaining 4* and 3* recruits got drafted at a rate of about 9-10%. So a 5-star recruit is roughly 4x as likely to be drafted than any other prospect.

Yeah, and it's not January. Final rankings haven't come out yet. None of the ranking sites have been able to evaluate and reassess. Because it's not even November yet. Not sure why people forget this...every...single...year.

His biggest issues beside speed obviously, seems to be footwork. He seems to be really easy to trip up. I've seen it repeatedly on his film. Hope they'll be able to fix that once he gets on campus.

That's weak abs and hip flexors. Cant follow through with the motion of the leg up because those muscles are untrained like most of the basement dwellers entire bodies on this site.

I just watched his junior tape and "easy to trip up" would be about the last thing I'd conclude. I don't think he's going to be a Barkley- or Dobbins-like difference-maker, but he could be a reliable chain-moving back.

Sounds like he's having a breakout senior year and is attracting more attention (and obviously from us). Congratulations Hassan!

Any recruit that decides to wear the Maize and Blue should be applauded. I once was an advid follower of recruiting. Unfortunately, some of the stuff that people post is really unfortunate and unsavory. Really sad some of the stuff said about 17/18 yr old kids. There are no guarantees what will happen when a player gets to next level. Yes, the rating services have proven that higher ranked players in balance are more successful at the next level. Unfortunately, just like first round NFL drafts, there are 5 star busts as well.
I remember some of the hand wringing with the Benjamine St. Juste commitment. Then the NO STAR from Canada went to a 7 vs 7 and balled out. Maybe Harbaugh sees Hassan as a future fullback. Michigan still needs that stud lead FB that can pass block, has great hands and ability to execute all phases of the Harbaugh offense.
Once again, Welcome Hassan. Look forward to seeing you represent the Block M on Saturdays.

of PT this year and will be the starting FB for the next 3 yrs.
..But yes could use a good back-up.
October 30th, 2017 at 5:53 AM ^
run blocker. Need to see if he can pass pro, run between tackles for more than a 1 to 3 yds, catch a screen and/or catch ball in flat. In other words, Toby Gerhart. The FB needs to be a threat that should be accounted for by the defense. Mason may be that guy, but wouldn't be a bad idea to have some depth.
