OT - Louisville Blogdom Implosion is Great Reading
Head over to any number of Louisville BBall blogs for some fun reading if you are enjoying their crash and burn. https://www.cardchronicle.com/2017/9/26/16369670/louisville-basketball-…
My favorite is the suggestion that they hire Beilein away from UM to be as squeaky clean as possible.

Hire Beilein to do what? They're not going to have a basketball team.
September 27th, 2017 at 3:28 PM ^
I'm sure that Beilein, who will be 65 by the end of this season, would be thrilled to go to a school like Louisville and try to rebuild from the ashes. That really sounds like the type of career move he would make.

As solid a guy as Beilein is, deep down he is probably not very fond of Louisville basketball.

On a side note, I'd love to know what the "Maizen" of L'ville hoops is saying right now.

They're not so upset about the information, but more so in the way it was presented.

Fuck Louisville.

Fucked themselves.
September 27th, 2017 at 3:56 PM ^
since the NCAA put a stop to the hooker parties
September 27th, 2017 at 4:18 PM ^
They didn't care about the hooker parties, they do care about athletes getting paid however.
September 27th, 2017 at 4:45 PM ^
I think that was a joke about the activities in which hookers engage with young men.
Or old men, but young men in this case.

...and the equally traumatizing satellite camps where more fringe kids got opportunities to impress.

Rick Pitinio was SHOCKED to learn that..... and he offered to pay for the abortion.

I think you DO deserve it. Been enjoying a cheating-ass program, and this is the flip side. Feel free to implode!
September 27th, 2017 at 4:07 PM ^
how can they enjoy the benefits of cheating for so long and then claim they don't deserve this?
September 27th, 2017 at 4:29 PM ^
If there is any fanbase that deserves it, it's them.
September 27th, 2017 at 4:57 PM ^
Is it? I honestly don't know a single Louisville fan. I've never met one; and, to my knowledge, I've never worked with one. Outside of the Championship Game a few years ago, I don't really think about them, and they are entirely irrelevant to me.
There are many more fan bases - in my mind - that deserve implosions, especially in basketball. The "blue blood" programs all seem to engineer some magnitude of cheating, and several actively flaunt it in front of the NCAA (e.g. UK and UNC). I'd prefer to see one of them get a death sentence. Not only would I laugh more, but I think it would have a broader implication for UM too.

Another +1
They absolutely do deserve this. The blackmail affair didn't bother them; hookers for the players? No problem. Now this. Not to mention they have Petrino and his exploits running their football program.
They deserve this and more.
September 27th, 2017 at 8:09 PM ^
You know what else this guy deserves? How about jailtime. Even if the assistants are the ones charged with bribery, what if Pitino and other head coaches knew about the scheme (yeah, what if) and took kickbacks as part of the deal? Maybe these assistants sing like birds.
Think any others at these universities getting paid on the back end have been claiming these kickbacks on their taxes. IRS interested?
September 27th, 2017 at 3:33 PM ^
Petrino is running wild
thats enough cause for chaos in Louisville
September 27th, 2017 at 3:49 PM ^
isn't it ironic that now Petrino isn't even the grimiest coach on his own campus?
At least this week, anyways. Don't underestimate Bobby's future potential to top this with his own shenanigans...
September 27th, 2017 at 4:30 PM ^
Pitino: Welp, I fucked that up pretty good.
Petrino: Hold my beer.
September 27th, 2017 at 3:38 PM ^
but he might lose all his assistant coaches again given all the vacancies to be opened.
September 27th, 2017 at 4:34 PM ^
Hiring a Beilein assistant is a sensible move. I'd consider Billy Donlon and Saadi real candidates. Who can you hire when your current staff has to go? I'd think current HCs are off the market. Tom Crean's agent is going to be busy..

But he has a Beilein connection and is a reasonable target, unlike the two assistants he just hired.

It was nice of the FBI to give us all of this reading material during Improvement Week/Wife Week.
September 27th, 2017 at 3:43 PM ^
I'm pronouncing it Louie-ville forever now.
September 27th, 2017 at 3:44 PM ^
That's some quality schadenfreude.
The guy suggesting Beilein is only slightly less crazy than the guy that proclaims "Brad Stevens or shut the program down."
September 27th, 2017 at 3:53 PM ^
In the AD thread they are talking about hiring Warde Manuel. I lol'd.
September 27th, 2017 at 4:16 PM ^
The guy who suggested Stevens (and also Jay Wright) said "He coaches at a small school. I'm sure we can double what Butler is paying him!"
September 27th, 2017 at 4:40 PM ^
It's funny that anyone would think Louisville is a desirable job right now. And these are candidates they couldn't have gotten months ago if Pitino had to retire for non-scandal reasons.
