Ty Isaac Getting Some 247 Recognition
I wouldn't say he's one of the best just yet, his body of work is just too small on the year, but 247sports has declared him "one of the best RBs in the country". I love how his hard work has directly lead to his success.

has also been pounding out some extra yards. Hard back to bring to his knees.

Oh yeah, very slippery back. It's like he's all lubed up or something!

of the D-line is still bent over and he is already plowing through.

What in the hell did I start here.

Technically that's what he said. NTTAWWT. Who are we to judge.
September 13th, 2017 at 1:09 PM ^
Should I have said I'm really impressed with his overall package?
September 13th, 2017 at 1:13 PM ^
does make this offense a really hard unit to deal with.

Isaac looked pretty good last year too, but wasn't given the opportunity.
September 13th, 2017 at 10:43 AM ^
That's what happens when you have a bad case of fumblitis.
It's good to see him stepping into the lead role this year.
September 13th, 2017 at 10:56 AM ^
Maybe it wasn't his only problem, but it sure didn't help his cause.

personal protection order.

Finally, and for Michigan, in the nick of time, Isaac is performing near to or at the 5* level of excellence wise ones were predicting five years ago.
September 13th, 2017 at 10:41 AM ^
Keep up the good work Ty Isaac!

Just wait until he starts getting some offset draws and screen passes.
September 13th, 2017 at 10:55 AM ^
do screen passes here? I didn't think that was a thing for us.

Interesting, how the narrative I have heard over the years that he was always one step away from transferring out, and that he acts entitled, is soft, etc... but it sounds like that this wasn't the case, at all. Am glad to think that maybe we finally will have a stud rb that plays well on Sundays, too.
Now, does he have another year of eligibility ? And if so, are odds low he stays ?

Saw the field with USC in 2013 and with Michigan in 2015,2016, and 2017.

So NFL it is !!!
FWIW I think he will surpass Rawls....
September 13th, 2017 at 11:34 AM ^
Kid's going to blow up like Rawls in the league.

Finally, the most talented back on the roster is actually at the top of the depth chart. It seems like it's been years since that has been the case.
September 13th, 2017 at 1:08 PM ^
Well if we are to beleive MichiganMan14, he claims Harbaugh plays politics and doesnt play the best players....

I agree. I have been saying this kid has a combination of size, speed and agility to be a very good RB. He just needed more touches. In limited play, and with a mediocre line last year, he's had some impressive runs. I can see him playing on Sunday if he continues to get the ball.

How do you rate Isaac's play this year? It seems like he isn't the fastest (Evans), not the quickest direction changer (Evans), not the most powerful (Higdon), doesn't break the most tackles (Smith last year), but he does seem to play with impressive vision. What do you think?
September 13th, 2017 at 12:21 PM ^
He got it out the mud, I respect that.

I really liked this kid from the get go. It was hard seeing him having such troubles. But he's older, wiser and is obviously buying into the team. He's always had the talent, so I hope he keeps getting better!

All that said I think Higdon is being under utilized and is better overall.

When my five year old heard the announcer say his name against Florida he looks at me and says, "Hey, my name is Isaac and I love Thai food".

For Isaac to prove himself a solid back. Was very excited when he transferred thinking that as a former 5 star he would soon become a starter. Very happy to see him stick with it and work hard to fight for carries. Concerned with tendencies to go down on 1st contact, but if he can continue with the YPC we've seen thus far no worries here.
