Ty Isaac Getting Some 247 Recognition
I wouldn't say he's one of the best just yet, his body of work is just too small on the year, but 247sports has declared him "one of the best RBs in the country". I love how his hard work has directly lead to his success.

We don't know what factored into his decision. It is U$C and a recruit's family's needs may have weighed on his decision. We just saw somehing similar with two different recruits that picked the longhorns over us.

The article says he transferred to be closer to his sick mom
September 13th, 2017 at 11:31 AM ^
I'm talking about why he picked USC.
September 13th, 2017 at 12:03 PM ^
'Cause his mom wasn't sick yet?
September 13th, 2017 at 12:51 PM ^
We did get Green in the same class. Another 5* at the time.

I assume so, but may God help me on this board if I suggest that some Michigan bagman didn't offer enough.
(I'm not saying a Michigan bagman was involved. I obviously have no idea what controlled his decision making, whether his mom was already sick or not and to what degree, etc.)
I'm happy for Ty. As much as I liked wheatley on staff, I can't help but feel that his current breakout is due to the coaching change.

Talk about over-used to the point of watering it down to mean almost nothing. I love Ty Isaac. He's my favorite of the backs. But the connection with his rise to this phrase is so faint as to be meaningless.

2013: Guy goes to USC as a much heralded 5 star recruit, realizes he's made a mistake and transfers to Michigan after the season.
2014: Sits out entire season due to NCAA transfer rules
2015: Appears in only 6 games with 24 total carries. 2nd or 3rd string tailback.
2016: Backs up Smith and gets about 6-8 carries a game with a high of 11 carries for 74 yards against Penn State.
2017: Begins season as redshirt senior burried third on depth chart. Could've transferred anywhere he wanted and played immediately but stays. Earns his second ever start after strong play in opener against Florida and gains 133 yards against Cinci.
The guy sat out a year to come here, sat behind Smith for two years and started this year behind Higdon and Evans but didnt leave.
You may think the term "Those who stay..." is watered down in regards to him but I sure don't. To me he embodies it.

You can't be a grad transfer unless you've graduated.
I did a quick search and didn't find anything suggesting he has. He's 4 years removed from HS. A lot of people who don't have the time demands he faces take longer than that to graduate.
The only speculation I saw suggesting he might not return focused on the possibility that he might not be invited back. (That seems ridiculous with the benefit of hindsight, but it's not as absurd as the claims that the coaches might not ask Kugler and O'Korn back unless they proved themselves in spring ball).

Ty has waited patiently and worked his ass off here for 4 years. He's getting his chance and running with it. I love seeing hiim have early success this year and hope he continues it. The guy has a ton of talent and is finally putting it all together.

Deserves recognition. Potentially crowded backfield. Isaac decided to step up and take it. Love the guy and seeing him succeed. Hopefully, the competition makes the other guys better too.

But yet another example of a comment matching the avatar. They say people start looking like their dog's over time - do we start sounding like our Avatar's?
If so - what the hell does a stick figure sound like?

Isaac has been hitting the hole very hard. I'm really impressed with what kind of shape he's in.
There have been a handful of big runs this season already that could actually have gone for even more yards or even touchdowns. Blockers have ran into him and he has also tripped a few times. Even with this, he's averaging like 8 yards/carry. Really pleased with him.
September 13th, 2017 at 10:30 AM ^
Seriously, what's wrong with what he said?

Well, let's give credit where credit is due. Issac has been hitting the hole really hard, but because of the offensive line stretching out the defense, Isaac's barely had to touch the sides of the hole. That allows him to touch the bottom of the defense way quicker...
