My mother-in-law taught him in HS but is a huge Bama fan. She also thinks it wasn't a clean hit, but then again, she also blames herself, for screaming at them to "get him" all night.

Damn, that game did not go so well for FSU. Opening vs. Alabama probably not the best idea.
September 3rd, 2017 at 7:40 PM ^
Yup. We know from experience. Probably shouldn't have scheduled that one.
September 3rd, 2017 at 10:19 PM ^
Really. Clemson had the right idea last year by playing them at the end of the season.

No.
FSU was not totally outclassed, but this was another one of those Alabama games where you think it's close and then you look up and they have already pulled away.
It never really felt like FSU was going to win once the game settled in.

The FSU defense never backed down despite being put in bad situations by the offense and special teams.
The FSU offense was outclassed.

take all the hits he did last year and keep on ticking. I worried about his health.

The Florida boards are full of ranting about Nussmeier. I don't know whether to laugh or pity them.

Terrible news.
The kid is tough as nails, but it was just a matter of time before that weak OL got him killed.
Hope he has a quick and speedy recovery. Meanwhile, Clemson now looks like the favorite in the ACC.

I once knew a girl, she had a dozen guys. One of them found out about it, beat her up so bad she ended up in a hospital on Guerrero street.

Not sure if you meant it this way or not, but Françoise is the feminine version of François. I'd suggest an edit.
This kid is tough as nails for all he's been through and the way he's kept fighting. Hoping for a fast and full recovery for him.

too bad for him. Will be very tough for FSU to replace

Sucks but not surprising. That looked bad.
September 3rd, 2017 at 7:35 PM ^
Feel sorry for that young man, not so much on 12/30/16 though. Bama lost a couple also; whether or not it makes a difference we'll see.
September 3rd, 2017 at 7:36 PM ^
Sucks for the kid, you knew it was bad when he went down so violently straight onto both of his knees. It didnt help that both of his knee pads were pulled up to above the knee, you never know if them being down would have helped soften the blow or not at this point.
Sucks for FSU and their seniors, but they have two backups who are capable, one the proven steady hand, the other the flashy underclassmen who was a wow recruit. I just hope they can do something this year from here on out

four years ago when i was playing they werent great but they are still something that can keep your bent knee from smacking off of what is essentially a cement slab covered by plastic grass and rubber beads. It may not have protected the injury all together but it wasnt going to hurt being over his knee.

were paid $5 million and many of the team expenses were taken care of such as hotels. As an AD its hard to pass up that kind of a payday and exposure, even if you are FSU.

Man, what are the odds both he and Deondre Francois get hurt at the same time?

To train for nine months and then go down in week 1, I can't even imagine. Hope he can make a full recovery.
