Hire Tony Hull for 10th assistant coach at Michigan
He's a RB coach which we need and has ties to south where he has been able to get 4 star talent to go to Kansas.

But we already have a RB coach, albeit with limited experience
Chris Partridge is the special teams coach. Wouldnt be smart to do anything that might tick him off when hes been the best recruiter in the nation since he's been here
not only would it give them a lead in to evaluate a guy up close to eventually replace him, but they'd also get back Tuioti's Poly ties on the recruiting front.
Win-Win
I think moving him around is a great idea. Being only a couple years out of high school, he is still learning the college game. Giving him experience at several different positions will put him in the best postion to move to a coordinator position in the future. Many of the other position coaches are over qualified for their position and can help with all of the overlap.
That's what Harbaugh is doing. He is exposing Partridge to various position groups. Give him time - a coordinator isn't built in a day.
I'd be all for it
I kind of feel like Jay at RB coach is not a good fit. Not sure what youd do with jay though
Im sure it would help us in recruiting if we had a coach with actual RB coaching expierence. The high 4-5 star running backs would surely like to work with a coach with expierence over one without it
But we could blame him if Butt didn't succeed?
IIRC, Williams' weakness was in the pass-catching part of the game. Then the elder Harbaugh said, "Please run faster, AJ"--and he did!
I like the way you think.
Do not tell me what what to not do.
Faux Aussies are all the same.
The one position we have not been able to reel in the top end recruits is running back. It may be by ranking only as evans was undervalued obviously. I really don't know if this is because of who is our coach is at that position. I also dont know how good of a recruiter Jay Harbaugh is. I do know he is the head coaches son and thus will never be given a pink slip. We barely missed on Harris, but if we could somehow reel in Noah Cain in the 2019 class I don't think anyone will be concerned who are running backs coach is. I also think Turner this year is going to be a good one and his ranking will only go up and he is allready in the espn 300.
RB is definitely not a weak position group.
is one of the least important holes to fill.
A good coach, a great recruiter, etc. etc. That should be the priority.
I think 5* running backs will be more likely to come to michigan when we have an offensive line made up of better players, that make holes 3 & 4 stars can run though.
We've had (& still have) highly ranked running backs on this team that still haven't done shit.
It's ALL about the O-line.
Jeremy Langford was rated outside of the Top 1000 on the composite.
Leveon Bell was rated outside of the Top 1800 on the composite.
Javon Ringer was rated a 3 star and the 13th player in Ohio.
Build and coach the OL and any running back with D1 offers can become All-Conference.
As you said, the RB position is almost entirely dependent on the OL.
In any sense, to suggest that we've struggled to reel in highly rated running backs is ridiculous. Derrick Green 5*, Ty Isaac 5*, Kareem Walker high 4*.
Agreed. We have had success recruiting highly rated running backs, a thing you don't even need if your OL is good.
Emmit Smith Dallas Cowboys vs Berry Sanders Detroit Lions.
I could of run behind Dallas and got 3 yards a carry. Barry Sanders would have shattered the rushing record in half the time it would of been untouchable if he was in Dallas.
Agreed
here's another article on Tony Hull... what he's done at KState has been very impressive... can only imagine that he'd be able to bring that success to Michigan...
I think Hull could help us a lot recruting in the south

edit - sorry, didn't realize the OP was just speculating...
