Let's Laugh @ ESPN
From the game recap currently on ESPN.com.

Michigan faces the winner of the Louisville-Jacksonville State on Sunday in Indianapolis. The Wolverines have never faced the Gamecocks and haven't played the Cardinal since the 1997 NIT.
Can anyone besides me think of a Michigan - Louisville game that they may have missed?
I was about to say the exact same thing. Either that or they are so short staffed that the ones who do write for them don't have the time to review/double check their work.
Even in that case, you'd think there are any number of sports nerds in college who would be happy to do research for free just for a credit on ESPN.
Exactly. There are something like 20 million unemployed men under 30 in this country doing nothing but posting memes on 4Chan, jerking off to anime, and watching sports. Can't America put them to better work doing research for ESPN???
I'm sorry...that company is so big and rakes in so much money, even with the cable cutters, why are things such a "struggle" there?! Is this a thing where the higher-ups need to maintain their pay so cutting all of these underneath talent and what-have-yous are what's taking place? I'm admittedly a moron when it comes to this kind of stuff.
I have no memory of playing them either. We beat Syracuse in the Final 4, then the tournament was cancelled and Spike started tweeting Kate.
the thing that did not happen did not happen.
In all fairness, that game was a really long time ago.
that it was longer ago than 1997!
but we didn't play either Stanford or Louisville in that tournament. We did play OK State, however.
We played Stanford in 2013 in Brooklyn. We won.
They were probably thinking of Otterbein University who have Cardy the Cardinal as their mascot.
Nope. I certainly don't remember playing Louisville. Although it was really weird how they shortened the 2013 NCAA tournament to five rounds.
laugh at AP, or he'll beat your ass good.
Or fouled out.
on the radio, the main announced kept referring back to the days of the "Fab Four" at Michigan. I was like:
I almost embarassed myself by mocking them for incorrectly referring to the Jacksonville Dolphins as the Gamecocks.
I wonder how often S. Carolina and Jax State mix it up.
Jacksonville State (nickname: Gamecocks) is in Alabama. Jacksonville University (nickname: Dolphins) is in Florida. In 1970, the Jacksonville Dolphins lost to UCLA in the NCAA men's basketball championship game. The other teams in the Final Four that year were New Mexico State and St. Bonaventure.
Man the blue-bloods truly haven't changed a bit!
Cool history lesson there, though, on a serious note. Thanks for that.
Gilmore was also a great player with the Kentucky Colonels. He made a great front court along with Dan Issel.
Well maybe they are half right because that game should have been removed from the books and L'Ville sent to Bolivia.
Jamele Hill must be doing the fact checking...
This was an AP story, so I don't think ESPN is nessecarily to blame. Plus, it's fixed now.
Clearly, ESPN is beginning to get its fun facts about teams from the much revered Hackenthorpe Book Of Lies, advertised (but not for sale) here:
Of course, it is the same site that advertises this:
Kids ... shy, embarrassed ...? Going through that difficult time when you think your face will never look lovely? Well, here, for you is the Teen-Read Edition of thr Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam complete with retractable hinged arm for dealing with facial problems. Tears off scabs, bursts pimples and rubs on Valderma while you are interested in the exciting, mysterious world of Omar Khayyam.
ESPN interns might go for that though.
This is why ESPN is going under.
It's because ESPN is going under that this stuff happens.
Nobody is left to do the nuts and bolts stuff.
Just cockroaches and Jamele Hill.
Not much difference there.
Is simply awful.
And that is being too nice.
Even the cockroaches are insulted.
Yes. You really thought outside the box.
I also wasn't aware of the Louisville Cardinal. Makes sense that Pitino would have a wood-based mascot though.
The alternative facts rule....
Maybe they're right? I looked up the box score for Trey in the 2012 tourney and it doesn't show he was credited for a block. Maybe these photos were staged or something.
